Senior Sales Representative / Account Manager at West Coast Personnel

• An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Sales Representative / Account Manager with a strong background in the fire protection and/or security industry. This is a specialist technical sales position requiring an established industry network, proven business development ability and strong relationships within the consulting engineering sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing existing relationships, developing new business opportunities, building a sustainable sales pipeline and converting opportunities into revenue.

 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and industry stakeholders.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the fire protection and/or security sectors.
• Build relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, developers, architects and other relevant stakeholders.
• Generate leads and maintain a consistent sales pipeline.
• Conduct client meetings, presentations and site visits.
• Identify client requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and tenders in collaboration with technical teams. 
• Manage opportunities from initial enquiry through to successful conclusion.
• Maintain accurate CRM and sales records.
• Monitor market activity, competitor activity and industry developments.
• Attend relevant industry events and client meetings.
• Work collaboratively with technical and operational teams.
• Achieve agreed sales, revenue and business development targets.

Essential Requirements

• Proven sales and/or account management experience within the fire protection and/or security industry.
• Established professional network within the South African fire and/or security sector.
• Demonstrable relationships with at least 10 consulting engineering companies.
• Ability to provide references or other verifiable evidence of these professional relationships.
• Proven track record of generating and converting new business opportunities.
• Strong understanding of fire protection, fire systems and/or security solutions.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building ability.
• Professional and confident client-facing approach.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Reliable transport.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team.

Highly Advantageous

• Existing relationships with consulting engineers, architects, developers and contractors.
• Experience with specification-based sales.
• Tender and project-based sales experience.
• Established portfolio of industry contacts and prospective clients.
• Technical qualification or relevant industry certification.
• Previous experience selling complex technical solutions.
