About the role

• We’re a small team of both generalists and specialists, with a diversity of skills and backgrounds. We work mostly with .NET Core, ReactJS, and NodeJS.

What you’ll be building

We’re building the world’s best real estate platform. This includes

• Customer-facing software – where people can self-service all their property needs
• Automation software – a human shouldn’t do what a computer can do better
• Back-office and CRM software – enabling our staff to deliver the best, most efficient service to our clients

• Docker, Kubernetes, AWS

Location

• We work remote-first, so this position does not have a fixed location. We have a beautiful office with great coffee in Ferndale, Randburg, where you'll have a desk if you want one. About half the team is in the office at least once per week.

The interview process

The process is roughly as follows (not necessarily in order):

• A 30min Zoom call with our CTO to see if we’re a fit for each other.
• A live technical interview where we test your knowledge and see how you solve problems with code. If you have your own computer, we prefer that you do it on your own machine, where you’ve got your own environment set up the way you like it. You can use Google/StackOverflow/whatever during coding questions.
• A meeting with your future teammates, to see if you’re a fit for our culture, and for you to see if you want to work with us.
• A small take-home project to do in your own time, where we see how you approach a real-world development task.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ software development experience.

Technical skills

You don’t need to know all of these, but at least a few

• Developing services and business logic with .NET Core and/or NodeJS
• Developing modern web applications using JS frameworks like React, Angular, Vue, etc
• Working with APIs (REST & GraphQL)
• Solid knowledge of HTML5 & CSS
• Solid understanding of relational database design
• Unit testing, integration testing & E2E testing
• Devops & CI/CD configuration
