    Service Technician - Mogalakwena

    Main Responsibilities

    • Provide specialized support on Epiroc machines systems including automation.
    • Carry out scheduled services and breakdown repairs on Epiroc EDS equipment.
    • Build strong, lasting relationships with our customers.
    • Coaching Epiroc and Mine employees on how to operate, troubleshoot, and repair Epiroc autonomous and other equipment systems.
    • Fault finding, performing root cause analysis, and, rectifying the issue.
    • Market and promote Field Service work and other Aftermarket services and products to customers to support the business growth of the Aftermarket Department
    • Participate in RCA initiatives to identify reoccurring failures and work together with the Product Company to find sustainable solutions.
    • Participate in productivity and efficiency improvement projects.
    • To take responsibility for the safe storage and maintenance of the company’s vehicles and equipment in your care.
    • Work well in a team to drive a successful output that meets customer requirements.
    • Liaise with Epiroc Product Company Engineering representatives to further develop our product.
    • Be able to carry out set tests on behalf of the Product Company and report on results.
    • Willingness to travel as and when required in the performance of your duties and training.
    • Work standby
    • Be able to work under pressure.
    • Be involved in spare parts inquiries and on-site stocking activities where and when required.
    • Develop maintenance practices for Epiroc equipment and customers aligned with automation.
    • Report back to the manager on issues restricting Epiroc performance
    • May be required to work shifts

     Experience requirements

    • Technical knowledge of Epiroc Surface Rotary Blasthole Drills
    • 2 years of mining experience
    • Advanced RCS Troubleshooting Skills
    • Trimble High Precision GPS Experience 
    • Automation Implementation expertise will be advantageous.
    • Proficient in troubleshooting all drill systems

    Good interpersonal skills

    • Computer Literate  
    • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint)
    • Good planning and organizational skills
    • Ability to work unsupervised at Epiroc standards
    • Valid driver’s license

    Educational requirements

    • Grade 12 with a suitable trade qualification
    • Technical Qualification, N4 and/orN5 and/or N6 or equivalent

    Communication

    • Submit comprehensive daily Site Reports.
    • Timeously report on safety issues to relevant Epiroc and Customer personnel.
    • Submit weekly machine performance report
    • Formal email communication when required.
    • Timeously respond to customer inquiries
