Settlement Officer (Prescient Fund Services) at Prescient

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all capturing / processing, matching and settlement of trades to the accounting system timeously for International markets namely Equities, FX’s and CIS investments
• Ensure trades are matched between client notification and counterparty confirmation
  • Ensure trades are matched between client notification and counterparty confirmation.
• Sending settlement instructions to custodian for all trades timeously via SWIFT, Omgeo or Workbench as necessary only once deals have been matched to the counterparty confirmations.
• Managing status of trades and requirements
• Maintaining broker settlement details, contact details and brokerage rates
• Monitoring/processing of front office trades to ensure STP settlement into the accounting platform
• Compiling of incident reports and assist in implementing and maintaining process controls
• Resolving external and internal queries relating to all trades from brokers, clients and custodians
  • You will need to build and maintain healthy client and counterparty relationships to ensure resolution of settlement issues identified.
• Ensure all applicable reconciliation and exception reports are performed and /or reviewed on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
• Project related tasks: testing and implementing new solutions. Look to using online solutions instead of using existing manual forms and sending manual instructions.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Relevant experience of at least 2-3 years + experience in a Settlements role in Fund Services / Investment / Wealth Management environment required.
• A solid understanding of the financial markets and instruments essential.
• Ideally knowledge and experience on both local and international markets including experience working with Omgeo.
