    Site Manager - Construction Industry

    Job Description

    • RPO Recruitment’s client, a leading property development and construction company in Gauteng is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join their growing team.
    • This role is ideally suited to a strong construction professional with extensive site-based experience managing building projects from inception through to completion.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Overseeing daily site operations and ensuring smooth project execution
    • Coordinating project schedules, construction programmes, and workflow planning
    • Managing subcontractors, labour teams, plant, and materials on site
    • Monitoring project costs, budget performance, and resource utilisation
    • Maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with specifications
    • Enforcing health, safety, environmental, and security procedures on site
    • Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders
    • Leading and mentoring site personnel while maintaining discipline and productivity
    • Chairing site meetings and maintaining accurate site records and reporting
    • Ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards

    Requirements:

    • BSc/BTech/National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Building, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
    • Minimum 10 years’ construction industry experience
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role
    • Strong building construction project experience
    • Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous)
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site coordination
    • Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
    • Knowledge of quality management systems and construction testing procedures
    • Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and P&G management
    • Good working knowledge of health & safety legislation and environmental compliance
    • Effective planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring capabilities
    • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
    • Experience managing subcontractors and site administration processes
    • Proficiency in project reporting and construction documentation
