RPO Recruitment’s client, a leading property development and construction company in Gauteng is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join their growing team.
This role is ideally suited to a strong construction professional with extensive site-based experience managing building projects from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing daily site operations and ensuring smooth project execution
Coordinating project schedules, construction programmes, and workflow planning
Managing subcontractors, labour teams, plant, and materials on site
Monitoring project costs, budget performance, and resource utilisation
Maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with specifications
Enforcing health, safety, environmental, and security procedures on site
Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders
Leading and mentoring site personnel while maintaining discipline and productivity
Chairing site meetings and maintaining accurate site records and reporting
Ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
Requirements:
BSc/BTech/National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Building, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
Minimum 10 years’ construction industry experience
At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role
Strong building construction project experience
Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous)
Valid driver’s license
Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site coordination
Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
Knowledge of quality management systems and construction testing procedures
Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and P&G management
Good working knowledge of health & safety legislation and environmental compliance
Effective planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring capabilities
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Experience managing subcontractors and site administration processes
Proficiency in project reporting and construction documentation
