    Skin Category Marketing Manager

    Job Objective

    • Lead yourself, the team, and the Consumer Division appropriately
    • Develop and execute the category strategies (with the team) for skin and implement approved strategies in the market
    • Develop and manage sustainable branded product propositions and category marketing strategies that meet the demands of the consumer and category market dynamics
    • P&L accountability for your brands
    • Ensure ROI objectives are tracked and achieved
    • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure buy in of the plans and superior execution
    • Task Description
    • Develop and execute your brand’s Category Marketing plans and strategies, with a focus on profitability, category insights, brand/category building and insight into the different channel dynamics, while adhering to the regulatory requirements
    • Own your brand P&Ls – managing the portfolio of brands under your control to deliver against targets for the category and the Consumer Brands Division
    • Manage budgets appropriately
    • Help enable Gross Margin per brand and initiate and lead profitability improvement projects where necessary e.g. COG’s value engineering, SKU rationalisation
    • Recommend and implement pricing strategies aligned to category, industry and business requirements
    • Develop and implement effective promotional pans based on insights, trends and key focus areas to help drive profitable growth
    • Ensure brilliant brand execution with relevant ROI per activity
    • Prioritise key activities to drive the business objectives
    • Ensure effective use of mediums for communication that ensure ROI
    • Develop a deep understanding of the market, consumer preferences within your categories and markets, ensuring all brand and marketing activities are rooted in the category and consumer insight and complemented by a solid understanding of the market and competitor dynamics
    • Enable the insights agenda through effective reporting and feedback to the broader team
    • Report on brand marketing performance, relative to the competition, identifying corrective actions, and directly managing marketing budget to ensure excellence
    • Work cross-functionally and ensure buy-in from the different functions
    • Work closely with Digital and Ecommerce team to ensure digital strategy and execution is aligned to Category Marketing plans and strategies
    • Work closely with the Innovation and Projects team to ensure NPD answers the consumer and category insights and are aligned to the Category Marketing plans and strategies.
    • Develop and execute NPD launch plans in line with NPD P&Ls and targets
    • Ensure Brand CIs are in place for focus brands and all communication developed is consistent in brand message and look and feel.
    • Partner with the sales team to ensure activity plans and material developed is suited to target customers and their retail environment and will cut through
    • Participate in forecasting and demand planning process ensuring demand plan is aligned to category marketing plans

    Supervision Exercise

    • There will be a Junior Category Manager reporting into one of the Category Marketing Managers but with a dotted line to the other two Category Marketing Managers

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 3 to 4 years B Comm/Marketing degree or equivalent Marketing qualification
    • Min 4 years FMCG / Pharmacy experience (Complementary Medicines /Vitamins & Supplements industry experience will be advantageous)
    • Sales and Marketing experience advantageous
    • Mature individual
    • Planning and project management
    • Ability to switch between strategic and transactional aspects of the position
    • Commercial Acumen

    • Results orientated
    • Strong sense of accountability
