Specialist: Business Intelligence at Assupol

Duties & Responsibilities:

Contribute to Organisations objectives for IT Development

• Adding value to company
• Assist with BI development in conjunction with other stakeholders to meet long term objectives

Develop, implement and maintain Databases & BI Solutions (Operational Excellence)

• Analyse user requirements and, based on findings, assist in designing functional specifications for BI databases and front end applications
• Test, validate and troubleshoot database and data warehousing solutions.
• Develop the semantic layer, metadata, reports, and report definitions.
• Develop, test, and document of all new or modified BI systems and applications
• Develop graphs and portal interfaces.
• Develop and test Data Extraction, Loading and Transformation (ETL) packages used to populate and refresh data warehouses.
• Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software.
• Test and document of all BI Systems

Provide user support (User Orientation)

• Analyse user requirements and design functional specifications for BI front-end applications. (TCF)
• Provide support and training to end users of BI Systems

Assist with research (Future Orientation)

• Conduct research and make recommendations on BI products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts

Formal Education:

• IT Related Degree/Diploma
• Microsoft Certification

Experience:

• IT experience: 3 years
• BI: - 2 years
• Insurance industry experience: 1 year (advantage)
