Specialist – Information Security Operations at MTN

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
The Specialist – Security Operations will deploy, maintain, monitor, and support both On Premise & Cloud environments, from initial architecture into production support.  The candidate is required to have hands on experience in configuring and maintaining Cloud environments and Cloud Services required to provide a full solution, including User Provisioning and assigning permissions and roles granting users access to the environments built.

The Specialist will work closely with other departments to identify, recommend, and implement cost-effective Cloud Solutions in a project-oriented environment. Will also provide ongoing support for Cloud environments and will work from a shared ticket queue to address daily system needs. The cloud environment is Oracle Cloud. This will also entail the Quarterly Updates/Releases from Oracle and an understanding of Release Management in IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PAAS (Product as a Service) or SAAS (Software as a Service)
Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)

• Ensure clean, consistent and accurate information, ultimately leading to streamlined management/financial reporting for Executive decision making
• Administer and maintain, monitor and support Incident Management, Vulnerability environments are consolidated for MTN Boost Infrastructure Team to correct.
• Support and maintain Identity & Access Management Life Cycle by provisioning and de-provisioning user accounts
• Provide ongoing administrative support for both On Premise and Cloud Environments and will work from a shared ticket queue to address daily system needs
• Responsible and Accountable for Managing the daily Security Operational Tasks.
• Be part of a Technical and Security Infrastructure Team across functional competency on Project Deliverables.
• Report on a weekly basis to the Information Security Manager relating to progress made within the operational security tasks performed.
• Adhere to information security policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for use throughout MTN Group Security
• Responsible for engaging with different support areas, Application Support, Testing Support, Information Security Manager
• Administer day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining user accounts, assigning roles and engaging with end user request.
• Ensure weekly and monthly security statistics is reported to the Information Security Manager
• Provide weekly updates on Cybersecurity Capabilities (Incident Management, Vulnerability Scans, Security Protocols)
• Perform quarterly recertifications for user access, roles and user account on both On Premise and Cloud Applications.
• Perform adhoc requests upon request.

Education

• National Diploma in Information Technology
• 3-year Engineering/ Information Science Degree (Advantageous)
• MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
• Oracle Stack (OAM/OIM/OID) training in will be an advantage
• Oracle Cloud Certification would be advantageous
• Industry Certification: Network + and A+

Experience

• 2+ years consistent work experience covering similar functions in multinational telecommunication, IT and manufacturing companies.
• At least 1 Year of IT experience with Active Directory, OS365 and SharePoint experience is an advantage.
• Administration of provisioning users in Active Directory and setting up of user machines, printers and hardware.
• Experience within an Oracle Cloud environment with specific experience in provisioning IaaS, PaaS and SaaS including IDCS for Single Sign-On integration.
• Demonstrated experience with global or multinational projects/programmes.
• An understanding of Technical integration and configurations is desirable.

• Demonstrate Security analysis and problem-solving skills using critical and innovative thinking.
• Experience in working for IT firm as an advisory administrative services division and supporting large scale environments.
• Previous Experience as Systems Administrator
• Experience deploying and administrating Virtual Machines
• Performance tuning, optimization, and advanced troubleshooting of system and user machines
• Experience with automation toolsets
• A basic understanding of Enterprise Architecture, active directory, middleware, application integration, web services, collaboration, system management, hardware architecture and virtualization and design standards and best practices for hardware and software architecture

Competencies

• Implementing OVM, Hyper-V, VM-Ware an advantage.
• Proven experience with the Infrastructure Technology space and shift over to Cloud SaaS, PaaS and IaaS, including site maintenance is highly desired.
• Experience meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff.
• Strong analytical abilities organized with attention to detail.
• Must be able to follow our established protocols and best practices within IT Security.
• Must be able to perform under tight timeframes and demonstrate problem solving skills
• Must be inter-dependent and dependent within the IT Security and Technical Team reporting to Information Security Manager.
• Ability to shift work hours as required by scheduled projects and/or unscheduled urgent support requests.
