    Specialist: Procurement -LDC

    Specialist: Procurement
    The Specialist, Procurement is part of the Group Procurement team within the Global Sourcing and Supply Chain (GSSC) function at Group. The position is primarily responsible for coordinating Request for Information/ Request for Proposal and Request for Quotation.  Coordinating all request to purchase order (Source to Purchase) for MTN Group Management Services (Pty) Ltd.  The Specialist is responsible for coordinating, reporting and tracking the end to end contracts lifecycle.

    The Specialist , Procurement will report to the Senior Manager, Procurement. The position will interface with Global Sourcing and Supply Chain (GSSC), SSH and Opco, (not limited to) via Oracle workflows and non-Oracle workflows in order to ensure effective and efficient operations

    Key Deliverables

    The Specialist, Procurement will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    Contract Management Coordination

    • Support the End-to-end contract life cycle management (from Sourcing to contract retirement)
    • Assist the team to project manage sourcing event from RFx issue until contract signature.
    • Input into the preparation of relevant Local and Country Agreement template for new sourcing events (RFx).
    • Coordinate contract review between supplier, Legal, Insurance, Tax, Treasury, Finance and Data Privacy and arrange supplier meetings
    • Track and project manage contract negotiation cycle until contract signature.
    • Proactively track and support the renewal of existing current agreement in line with approved process.
    • Ensure alignment between GSSC, Business Function and Group Legal on the adoption of all new contract templates
    • Coordinate all contract signatories as per contract signoff sheet requirements and ensure adequate and effective archiving of procurement contracts for MTN Manco SA.
    • Coordinate and update contract register on a bi-monthly basis and highlight any upcoming contracts for expiration to line manager and respective business function.
    • Maintain a seamless arching of all contracts (NDAs, Local Agreements, Country Agreements SoW’s) both electronic and hard copy format.
       

    Coordinate end to end RFI/RFQ/RFP on MTN E-Sourcing platform

    • Log all sourcing and contracts projects / requirements received from the business functions onto BOOM (Business Optimization Operating Model).
    • Review the Request for Information (RFI)/Request for Quotation (RFQ)/ Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements and supporting documentation sent by the business functions
    • Liaise with SSH to conduct vendor due diligence for new suppliers as part of supplier registration for E-Sourcing.
    • Conduct market research to identify new potential suppliers that can be invited to participate in opportunity. This to be done in conjunction with GGSC.
    • Create RFI/RFQ/RFP  Create collaboration team for evaluation of the RFI/RFQ/RFP
    • Create cross functional scoring team and provide required Information to the stakeholders within the defined timelines.
    • Enter the abstract or form data and review the same before publishing the RFI/RFQ/RFP.
    • Publish and monitor the RFI/RFQ/RFP.
    • Closure of RFI/RFQ/RFP after review and evaluation.
    • Inform the knocked-out suppliers about their status and update the same on system.
    • Update award optimization and inform awarded and non-awarded suppliers of their status Perform Award Optimization by defining incumbent Suppliers, Supplier incentives, adding/ removing Rebate Tiers, creating scenarios for award optimisation (priorities, requirements, etc.), adding constraints.
       

    Coordinate BBBEE Compliance and Reporting

    • Obtain and ensure that a valid BBBEE certificate is available for each registered vendor, where it is local requirement.
    • Ensure frequent archiving of supplier BBBEE certificates.
    • Develop and maintain a supplier BBBEE database.
    • Assist Line manager with quarterly BBBEE report for MTN Manco.
    • Liaise with MTN SA on any BBBEE regulatory changes and implementation requirements.
    • Supplier B-BBEE Certificate and compliance management

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:

    Specialist – Information Security Operations

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The Specialist – Security Operations will deploy, maintain, monitor, and support both On Premise & Cloud environments, from initial architecture into production support.  The candidate is required to have hands on experience in configuring and maintaining Cloud environments and Cloud Services required to provide a full solution, including User Provisioning and assigning permissions and roles granting users access to the environments built.

    The Specialist will work closely with other departments to identify, recommend, and implement cost-effective Cloud Solutions in a project-oriented environment. Will also provide ongoing support for Cloud environments and will work from a shared ticket queue to address daily system needs. The cloud environment is Oracle Cloud. This will also entail the Quarterly Updates/Releases from Oracle and an understanding of Release Management in IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PAAS (Product as a Service) or SAAS (Software as a Service)

    Executive: Chief of Staff, Group President and CEO’s Office

    Mission/Core purpose of the Job
    Key responsibilities of the role include:

    • The role is responsible for the effective functioning of the Group President and CEO office and interactions with Group Exco, Group Board and external stakeholders engaging directly with the office.
    • Partner with Group Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer on strategic planning and execution priorities that the Group CEO chairs and provides oversight over.
    • Ensure key strategic and operational matters arising from Group Exco and Group Board get actioned and resolved timeously.

    CEO: Digital Platform

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The CEO Digital Platform will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the long-term growth and commercial strategy for Digital in MTN. At this point in time, the MTN Digital business portfolio is run in a hybrid way with functional oversight by the CEO Digital Platform at Group level and operational execution within each MTN operating company. As part of MTN’s strategy Ambition 25, the company is building the vertical messaging/content/ commerce platform Ayoba which will include access to the future digital services portfolio and evolve into an independent line of business. The CEO Digital Platform will therefore be accountable for a pro-forma P&L across all digital services in the OpCos and for the contribution of Digital to the success of Ayoba.

    The CEO Digital Platform is responsible for the growth of digital service products and services and oversees business development opportunities. This entails defining the overall strategy and business plan and effective execution of the plans related to Digital Services, as measured by digital sector market share, and product revenue and product margin. The scope of accountability includes overall service/product development, business casing, execution and product lifecycle supporting roadmap definition, execution and performance management of existing products and services through the digital teams within operating companies.

    This role is responsible to oversee and manage the following digital portfolios:

    • Gaming
    • Video & Music
    • VAS & CRBT
    • OTT Partnerships
    • RMS business development
    • Health & Education

    • As part of the leadership team, the CEO is also responsible to contribute to the comprehensive MTN overall strategic goals, to achieve profitable growth, and to continuously improve the operations performance.

    Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Lead the creation of the functional strategy in line with the overarching business goals

    • Establish, monitor, and align the direction, strategy and results of the Digital Services Vertical, collectively and as individual work areas
    • Lead and drive an integrated global solution development and problem-solving philosophy
    • Monitor true-value metrics to measure the impact and benefit of the function. Drive continuous improvement across all sub functions
    • Generate visibility for the true-value contributions of the function within Group, Business Leaders and OpCos to drive greater service acceptance and adoption
    • Identify and assess M&A and partnership opportunities for MTN in the Digital space

    Delivery Leadership:

    As the delivery leader of the Digital Services vertical, the CEO is accountable for the following work area outcomes:

    • New Business Development, Strategic Partnerships and alliance deals
    • New and innovative go to market value propositions for Digital
    • Review on an ongoing basis the performance of various Digital Channels and the uptake across the Group
    • Periodically meet with Opco CEOs in country to understand the propensity for Digital Services in the Opcos and how the Opcos can leverage off Group Digital Services and Channels
    • Provide insights and guidance to the team to develop innovative Digital Services and Products which would help MTN become a leader in the market for Digital Services
    • Monitor the revenue and P&L for Digital Services across the Group and re calibrate targets and strategy in line with the overall targets set by the organization
    • Liaise with the Regional VP offices and through Regional Digital Service Managers drive the use of Digital Services and Channels within the region
    • Drive the digital technology platform evolution via the Group CTIO and Opco CTIOs (architecture definition, programme roadmaps, execution monitoring, new platform commercialisation and roll-out)

    Digital

    • Ensure growth in revenue through product development and definition, and execution and performance management.
    • Ensure business development growth by reviewing business plans and cases, including market specific propositions and the supporting implementation and Go to Market (GTM) plans.
    • Ensure product marketing efforts and campaigns promote the full suite of traditional digital products and services as well as services from partnerships and strategic alliances
    • Oversee the drive and definition of accurate and timely product and category reporting using dynamic dashboards or similar methods
    • Ensure the team uses insights in their development of new digital products and services
    • Review and sign-off business cases, frameworks, and models for the function

     Governance

    Strategic Meetings

    • Hold strategic meetings, ensure relevant participation, and provide guidance and input in the various discussions. Solicit feedback and input from opco.
    • Drive adequate risk mitigation and controls and elicit inputs from relevant parties
    • Provide relevant budget for internal projects
    • Prepare proposal on change initiatives, policies and procedures

    Function Tactical

    • Review all projects initiated (internal or global)
    • Review key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions
    • Sign-off / make decisions regarding tactical changes

    • Monitor and analyse products performance trends from financial, competitive and operational perspectives at Group level and via Opco specific reviews

    • Prepare documents for Digital roadmap Strategic documents for MTN Group Exco and Group board
