RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable engineering firm is seeking a Structural Draughtsperson to join its team in Secunda. The successful candidate will provide technical drafting support on a range of industrial, plant and mining-related structural projects, working closely with engineers and site teams to develop accurate and practical construction documentation.
This position would suit a detail-oriented draughtsperson who takes pride in producing high-quality drawings and enjoys working in a technical engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed structural drawings for engineering and construction purposes.
Develop and update drawings based on engineering designs, calculations and site information.
Prepare detailing for structural steel and concrete elements.
Work closely with structural engineers to translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings.
Incorporate design revisions and ensure drawing information remains current.
Liaise with site personnel to clarify drawing-related requirements where necessary.
Assist with the preparation of construction and fabrication documentation.
Maintain drawing standards, accuracy and consistency across projects.
Contribute to the successful delivery of structural projects within industrial and mining environments.
Requirements:
National Diploma or NQF Level 4 qualification in Draughting or a related field.
3–6 years’ experience in structural draughting.
Previous exposure to industrial, plant or mining projects will be advantageous.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
Experience with Revit, Tekla Structures or other 3D modelling platforms will be an advantage.
Good understanding of structural steel and reinforced concrete detailing.
Familiarity with relevant drafting practices, standards and conventions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
