As Structural Design Engineer you will be working as part of a team through all lifecycle stages in the design phase of the project.
Interact with all project role players (including clients, professional teams, contractors) and other stakeholders.
Develop and maintain project plans, records, reports, schedules, documentation, and filing.
Timeously identify and report on risks and issues and proactively respond in addressing them.
The position will be based in Johannesburg, but projects will be predominately from the Dubai Office in the Middle East.
Minimum requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Structural Design Engineer in buildings with at least 2 years’ experience on projects in the Middle East.
BSc or BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognised institution (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
Strong technical capability with reinforced concrete, structural steel, precast and post-tensioned structures.
Experience with construction engineering and Contractor Design & Build projects.
Experience working with a multi-disciplinary project team and holds a sound understanding of different team roles, responsibilities, and relationships.
Ability to function well as part of a team.
Software proficiency in MS Office, ETABS, StatiCa, SAFE, SAP2000, RAM Concept, IDEA StatiCa, Strand 7, REVIT, Rhino, and PROKON.
Experience with coding and automation of processes and workflows to assist with daily tasks.
