Structural Engineer at WSP in Africa

Job Description

• We are looking for a dynamic Structural Engineer to join WSP and contribute towards conducting independent assignments in the Structural Engineering field and makes recommendations on alternate solutions to engineering problems. Prepares and presents technical reports.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Design structural engineering projects in a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering environment;
• Responsible for analysis of reinforced concrete and steel structures;
• Delivery of projects following a modern BIM workflow; Design and model in Revit. Paperless Schemes.
• Produce quality work that conforms to our ISO quality standards;
• Project team liaison.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc in Structural Engineering. MEng/MSc of advantage;
• Ideally 3 or more years’ experience mainly in structural engineering
• Registered as candidate for registration with ECSA;
• Civil engineering experience advantageous;
• Project Management experience advantageous;

• Computer literacy. An affinity for digital engineering.
• Working knowledge of standard office software (e.g. MS Office Suite) essential.
• Proficiency in some of the design and BIM software packages (e.g. Revit, Robot, Etabs, Prokon) essential. 
• Proficiency in Safe design software of advantage.
• Proficiency in simple programming (e.g. MS Excel) essential.
• Proficiency in visual programming environment (e.g. Dynamo) of advantage.
• Ability to interact with the office team and construction team.
• Valid Driver’s License;
