Student Wellness Manager - Cape Town at IIE Rosebank College

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provision of Student Emotional and Counselling Services

• Implementation of on-site primary counselling services, trauma containment & crisis management.
• Facilitates group counselling for students with similar needs.
• Establishes a referral network for secondary counselling.
• Marketing and promotion of the service to students.
• Maintaining case files and counselling statistics within SACSSP/HPCSA standards.

Planning, Rollout and Monitoring of Community Engagement Programmes

• Create a campus-specific planner for CE projects and manage the logistics and implementation thereof.
• Empowers students with a sense of citizenship and encourages student participation and involvement in CE projects.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with stakeholders in the community.
• Ensure the active functioning of the CE committee of the Student Council.
• Sources sponsors to support community outreach programmes.
• Monitor, evaluate and analyse projects to inform future planning & measure the impact of projects.

Creation, and monitoring of Social Education and Awareness campaigns

• Identifies key SAE themes, suggests possible campaigns, and manages awareness campaigns accordingly.
• Design and Plan effective Social Awareness & Education Campaigns aimed at addressing campus-specific needs.
• Evaluation and analysis of Programmes to inform future planning.

Management of the Student Council

• Plan and implement the SC election process.
• Provide enough training, team building and development opportunities for the SC.
• Ensure the active participation and engagement of SC members in the student leadership council through the various committees, portfolios, meetings, and other related activities as per the SC process.

Reporting

• Fortnightly reporting on all KPAs
• Consolidated semester reporting
• Completion of all online tracking systems

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years working experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work/psychology qualification.
• Registration as a Social Worker with the SACSSP or a registered Counsellor or Psychologist with the HPCSA.
• Driver's Licence and own car is essential.
• Experience working with youth will be advantageous.
