Superintendent at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• Senior Certificate – Grade 12
• 4-5 years’ relevant experience at City of Cape Town as Senior
• Foreman or equivalent level of operations (as per KPA’s below)
• At least 2 years’ appropriate Supervisory experience
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and SAP)
• Code B or EB driver’s licence
• Waste Management experience in composting environment

Key Performance Areas

• Managing the collection of containerised waste
• Managing Capital and Special Projects
• Managing Contracts
• Collating and Compiling Statistical information
• Managing Council refuse containers, dealing with queries and complaints in area of jurisdiction
• Liaising with various NGO’s, CID’s etc on collection issues
• Managing facilities – repairs and maintenance
• Managing the allocation of resources and personnel
• Implementing the Council’s policies and procedures
• Managing Discipline
• Performing incident and accident investigations
• Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements and assist with investigations of incident, accidents and claims
• Assist with internal and external environmental audits
• Monitor compliance with all related legislation related to the management of community recycling centres
