    Systems and Services Administrator

    Job Summary Statement

    The ICT Services Administrator is responsible for the management and maintenance of critical ICT infrastructure components, including Base OS Services, Directory Services, Messaging Services, and M365 Services, with a strong focus on Microsoft Administration. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our organisation's ICT systems and services, including MimeCast products, Active Directory, and other collaboration technologies like Microsoft Teams and Video Conferencing.

    Minimum Requirements    

    QUALIFICATIONS (BENEFICIAL):

    • Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Administration, M365, MimeCast, etc.) is a plus.

    EXPERIENCE:

    •  At least 3 years proven experience as an ICT Administrator or in a similar role, with a focus on end user environments.
    • Experience with Microsoft, MimeCast, Active Directory

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Base OS Services
    • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems on servers and workstations.
    • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to the base OS.
    • Implement security patches and updates in a timely manner.
    • Perform routine system backups and recovery procedures.
    • Collaborate with other ICT team members to ensure seamless integration of base OS services with other systems.

    Directory Services

    • Administer, configure, and maintain directory services, with a strong emphasis on Active Directory.
    • Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions, ensuring compliance with security policies.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve directory services-related issues promptly.
    • Plan and implement directory services improvements and enhancements.

    Messaging Services

    • Manage email systems, including on-premises and cloud-based solutions.
    • Administer MimeCast products for email security and archiving.
    • Monitor email systems for performance, availability, and security.
    • Configure email accounts, distribution lists, and email security settings.
    • Provide support for electronic communication related issues and incidents.
    • Collaborate with end-users to optimise workflows.

    M365 Services and Collaboration Technologies

    • Administer and maintain M365 services, including SharePoint, Teams, and other applications.
    • Manage user licenses, permissions, and access controls in M365.
    • Support end-users in using M365 applications effectively.
    • Collaborate with other ICT teams to ensure proper integration of M365, Teams, and Video Conferencing with other systems.
    • Stay updated on Microsoft collaboration technologies and recommend best practices for optimisation.

    Knowledge Skills & Abilities    

    • Proven experience in managing Base OS Services, Directory Services, Messaging Services, and M365 Services, with a focus on Microsoft Administration.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and related technologies.
    • Familiarity with MimeCast products for email security and archiving.
    • Experience with Microsoft collaboration technologies, including Teams and Video Conferencing.
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
