Systems Engineer II at Nedbank

Job Purpose

• We are seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer II to join a high-performing operations team responsible for managing the F5 (Application Delivery Management) platform. This role supports critical enterprise infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of application traffic across the bank.
• The successful candidate will play a key role in production support, platform management, and incident resolution, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and engaging stakeholders at various levels.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor platform performance and conduct health checks
• Support incidents, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolutions
• Participate in deployments and change activities
• Configure and maintain F5 solutions and scripts
• Provide input into root cause analysis and improvements
• Engage stakeholders during incidents and operations
• Participate in a 24/7 standby rotation

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

• Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Minimum Experience Level

• 5+ years’ IT experience.
• Proven hands-on production support experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and operational support capability.
• Willingness to work on-call and after hours.
• F5 experience or certifications
• Exposure to networking, infrastructure, or load balancing.
• Scripting or automation knowledge

Working Conditions

• Standby rotation (every 2–3 weeks)
• After-hours support required
• Overtime managed via time-off-in-lieu
