    Talent and Capability Lead South Africa

    Role Purpose

    The Talent and Capability Lead South Africa role based within Human Resources.

    To design and deliver a robust talent plan for South Africa, identifying opportunities for innovation, driving transformation (e.g. digital acceleration).
    To drive the talent, succession planning and performance dialogue performance of Vodacom South Africa , working with the HR Business Partners and VSA HRD, and Vodacom Group Talent to delivery SA talent and PD strategies. To contribute and drive  to Learning & Development strategy development and deliver operational support. 
     

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Accountable for the development and execution of Vodacom South Africa’s Talent management strategy, policies & frameworks .
    • Lead key strategic talent and oversee capability (learning) initiatives (e.g. digital transformation, integrated Talent Management approach)
    • Gathering and analysing multiple internal and external people and organisational data sources in order to identify and deliver on future organisational talent and capability needs
    • Identify and develop innovative opportunities to collaborate, co-create and pilot talent delivery mechanisms, through close interface with CoEs and Markets (e.g. skill/ talent mobility policies and mechanisms)
    • Develop, implement and manage the execution of the South Africa’s Performance Management and Succession planning process. 
    • Through the annual talent cycle, work with the HR Leadership and business to agree the strategic talent needs for South Africa and ensure actions are developed and executed
    • Work with the Vodacom Group Talent team  to build local  capability in unbiased assessment of Talent. 
    • Be a trusted advisor to VSA HRD on all matters related to Talent, engagement, Spirit and Purpose. Support facilitation of SLT and E Band appointment decisions for South Africa in conjunction with Resourcing team.

    Key performance indicators

    • Delivery of key talent initiatives such as House of Talent, and KPI’s including Diversity & Inclusion, Youth, Digital Skills, and critical JV/integration initiatives
    • Smooth delivery of standard talent processes (PD, succession planning, selection for talent programs)
       

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Experience of Talent & leadership development and working in large complex multicultural global organizations
    • Proven ability to influence and build relationships at a senior level, and simultaneously across multiple stakeholder groups
    • Professional credibility, Emotional Intelligence, drive, and intellect to move initiatives forward. 
    • Ability to take out ambiguity and drive simplicity across Talent and Performance activities 
    • Hay level assessment expert used to assess senior SLT/E bands hire for fit and potential. Using this judgement to influence to EXCO level 

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • B Degree
    • Psychology background (advantageous)
    • Assessment Expertise (advantageous)
