Tax and Accounting Senior (JB3687) at Kontak Recruitment

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field
• Must be SAIPA/SAICA registered
• 2 to 3 years of post-article experience
• Demonstrated caring, friendly, and professional demeanor
• Adaptable to changing business and industry requirements
• Detail-oriented and committed to delivering exceptional client service
• Experienced in various accounting fields, with a strong understanding of tax operations
• Accountable and responsible for meeting deadlines and ensuring compliance
• Experience in Xero Accounting software as well as E-filing and Carbon

Duties and Responsibilities:

Subject Matter Expertise:

• Serve as a subject matter resource on all aspects of Tax operations, providing guidance and support to the team

Objective Alignment:

• Understand and align your performance with the objectives of stakeholders, clients, and the company

Tax Return Review:

• Review tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts to ensure accuracy and compliance

Financial Review:

• Review management accounts, bank statement summaries, and payroll to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement

Financial Statement Review:

• Review annual financial statements for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts

Systems Development:

• Collaborate with engineers to provide input on business systems development where necessary, ensuring they meet the needs of the tax and accounting function

Client Management:

• Effectively manage client interactions and relations, addressing inquiries and providing expert advice

Mentorship and Training:

• Provide training in accounting and tax to less experienced colleagues, offering mentorship and guidance

Ad Hoc Duties:

• Undertake any other duties deemed relevant to support the efficient functioning of the team and the organization
