    Team Leader Operations

    The main purpose of the job:

    Provide overall leadership and management direction to the Operations Team for VFS Southern Africa. The position will cover the operational scope of all service areas including retail and wholesale financing, insurance as well additional services from contract activation to contract lifetime customer support until contract end.
    You will be required to  provide the highest level of customer service to dealers, customers, the Volvo Group, and Volvo Financial Services personnel supporting Volvo Financial Services becoming a world class finance company.

    Reporting:  This position reports to Head of Transformation and Operations.

    Job Objectives:

    • Ensures that all operations activities are in alignment with VFS and Volvo Group policies and procedures.
    • Ensures effectiveness, robustness and transparency of the Operations processes by analysis of KPI’s and drives continuous quality and process improvements within the Operations function.
    • Controls the production and management of documentation in accordance with security and compliance requirements and to meet audit guidelines and targets. 
    • Monitor the performance of outsourced services and report to management regularly on the respective SLA fulfilment.
    • Co-ordinates with Legal Counsel to maintain local legal requirements including updating documentation.
    • Identifies and evaluates operational and administrative risks and recommends on mitigation procedures; operational risk incidents need to be reported to the head of Operations to ensure that operational risks are measures and appropriate risk mitigating actions are taken.
    • Assess and ensure the competency of the direct reports and reinforce accountability through Management by Objectives and monitor target achievement.
    • Recruit, develop, train and retain talented people for the Operations Team.

    Education & Job Experience:

    • University degree or equivalent is required in Administration.
    • Extensive experience in operations department from 5 years preferably from a bank or leasing/captive company.
    • Experience in managing and leading an operations team.
    • Experience in working in international environment.
    • Good financial understanding.
    • Strong business understanding.

    Key Competencies:

    • Good knowledge / understanding of financial services products and services.
    • Highly target-driven, self-motivated and willing to take responsibility.
    • Ability to train, develop and motivate their operations team.
    • Strong leadership competencies according to Leading People.
    • Proven excellent statistical and analytical skills.
    • Good team worker, initiative, project oriented.
    • Advantage in Microsoft Office 365.
    • High level of English (oral/written).
    • High communication skills.
