Up to 2 years’ relevant post qualification network communication experience
Working knowledge of multiplexer systems and ADSS/OPGW and heavy duty fibre optic cable
Ability to operate sophisticated test and splicing equipment
High degree of accuracy w.r.t. operation of optic fibre splicing equipment
A working knowledge of the safety regulations as well as light engineering
Key Performance Areas
Interprets and coordinates specific pre-work/site requirements with regards to installation, repairs and, planned and predictive maintenance sequences and guides the activities of personnel
Completes internal transactional documentation (e.g. time sheets, log sheet, progress and productivity field report, etc.) and related forms (vehicle checklist),
Performs specific tasks associated with the operation of specialized vehicles and equipment (compressor, trucks, etc.) during communication equipment and hardware installation, repair and maintenance activities
Coordinates activities associated with the construction and installations of communication and fibre optic networks
Coordinates activities and sequences associated with routine maintenance of a multiplexer, multiplexer interface circuits, fibre optic cable system and cable networks
Coordinates activities/sequences associated with trouble shooting/fault finding and repairing on multiplexers, interface circuits, fibre optic network cables and copper networks both underground and overhead
Coordinates activities/sequences associated with safety and procedures in and around high/medium voltage sites and infrastructure
Administrative tasks performed for staff for proper running of section
