    Temporary Legal Officer: Contracts Management

    KEY DELIVERABLES:
    The Legal Officer Contract Management is responsible for providing Contract Management and legal advisory support services to the Legal Division of NHBRC.

    The Individual will primarily be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

    •  Review all TORs and proposals received by the department.
    •  Draft contracts timeously and accurately as required.
    •  Negotiate contracts as required.
    •  Facilitate execution of contracts as required.
    •  Identify and report key emerging risks relating to legal department.
    •  Address and resolve contractual disputes.
    •  Compile and maintain Contracts Register.
    •  Provide/Facilitate training on contract management policy and processes to internal stakeholders.
    •  Provide advisory services in the analysis and updating of current policies and procedures received by the department.
    •  Ensure adherence to approved policies and procedures.
    •  Coordinate submission of documents to various signatories.
    •  Ensure safe and proper record keeping of documentation.
    •  Effective drafting of contracts internally as required.
    •  Provide sound legal advice on contracts to NHBRC staff as required – in a cost-effective manner reducing unnecessary litigation.
    •  Contain departmental costs in line with budget limits.
    •  Implement remedial action in response to potential audit findings.
    •  Report and act on any fraudulent activities timeously.
    •  Consult with internal and external stakeholders.
    •  Establish and maintain relations with key internal and external stakeholders.
    •  Attend and resolve queries within contract management section.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    •  Minimum LLB or appropriate Law degree
    •  Minimum three (3) years ‘experience in contract management
    •  Minimum two (2) years’ experience in Legal research and Contract Drafting
    •  Admission as an Attorney/Advocate
