    Trade Marketing Team Lead

    Can you move minds?

    We’re looking for a leader and a trade marketing (online and offline) expert to bring their passion and knowledge to our team. You’ll ensure that the marketing strategy is adapted to the market and contributing to the overall goals of the region.

    Based at our South African Headquarters in Cape Town and reporting to the General Manager ASICS South Africa (based in Cape Town) and Senior Marketing Manager of Emerging Markets (based in Amsterdam), as part of the role you’ll:

    • Build the Strategic Marketing approach together with the Marketing team & in alignment with the Senior Marketing Manager EM.
    • Influence the customer journey and drive the conversion funnel to ensure strong conversion of our product for all channels: retail, wholesale and e-commerce.
    • Build, implement and track the activation marketing plans for all channels aligned to their needs and goals, ensuring all projects and tools are delivered on time and bring ROI.
    • Market analysis; competitors, retail insights and digital innovations.
    • Toolbox creation and distribution.
    • E-trade activation plan: collect insights from retailers to tailor the plans to the different audiences.
    • Briefing brand content to Digital Specialist: banners, landings, creative assets and social media strategy.
    • CRM in retailers: communication plan, recommendations for targeting, e-mails design.
    • Analysis of digital performance campaigns.
    • Management of Trial events in collaboration with the Sports Marketing Specialist, from end to end.
    • Lead and manage our Training App: Myagi in collaboration with Sales and our 2 Brand Trainers.
    • In-store activation plan & store excellence: POS material development,production, distribution and reporting.
    • Lead the Sell-out Support programme in collaboration with Sales & the agency. Aligning with Emerging Markets Trade Marketing Manager and reporting to Europe, as it’s funded by them.
    • Support the Sales Brand Trainer Lead on the coordination of the Programme and alignment with Europe/Emerging Markets Guidelines. Plus improvement of the digital dashboard and reporting in collaboration with the agency.
    • Support on additional projects like Shoe Finder implementation on retailer’s websites.
    • Briefing and collaboration with external creative agencies to get the best ROI in-store and online.
    • Pull of agencies Management in coordination with the team (define the needs, negotiation of retainers, etc)
    • Cross-functional collaboration & synergies with internal teams, Emerging Markets, Digital Marketing, Sports Marketing and Sales.
    • Drive synergies between marketing and sales leading trade/retailers’ calendar, one pages and brief requirements by retailer
    • Impactful visibility driving sell through more digital in-store and online; digital walls, QR codes, leading innovation.
    • Support on Events Organisation.
    • Marketing Budget Responsibility, reporting and control. Monthly report to Europe.

    What we’re looking for

    • Experience managing teams.
    • Ability to work under pressure covering multiple projects.
    • Extensive experience (8+) in offline and online trade marketing preferably in the same industry as ASICS.
    • Experience and an example for others regarding e-commerce and digital marketing areas & paid media.
    • Strong in strategic plan development and execution.
    • Strong analytical skills & experience with market data.
    • Understanding of e-trade platform-tools & mechanics and their efficiency.
    • Understanding of data exchange tools for performance marketing.
    • Understanding of commerce & e-commerce and online shopper purchase path
    • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint user
    • Living in South Africa, near Cape Town
