UI Designer at Ogilvy South Africa

This role requires a good understanding of UX, have good proficiency in UI, as well as an understanding of HTML and CSS. The candidate should be comfortable in prepping artwork for both presentations and dev. The ideal candidate should have a portfolio that shows these skills. They will need to be quick in rollout, familiar with prototyping, have a positive attitude and take (and understand) direction easily. Our designers are able to take ownership of different projects for different brands from a kick-start, all the way to deployment. And its important that the candidate can justify and articulate their design decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Developing a look and feel inspired by a Brand Identity.
• Creation of user designs, wireframes and interactive prototypes.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure proper implementation of UI designs.
• Assist in creating and optimizing graphics, icons, illustrations, and other visual elements.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
• Support the production of design assets and deliverables, ensuring they are consistent, pixel-perfect, and meet project requirements.
• Assist in creating and maintaining design documentation, including design specifications, guidelines, and design rationale.
• Collaborate with other team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment, fostering creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Seek feedback and actively participate in design critiques and reviews to improve design skills and grow professionally.
• Maintain a strong attention to detail and ensure designs are accessible, user-friendly, and compliant with industry standards and guidelines.
• Adapt designs based on feedback, user testing results, and project constraints, while balancing usability, aesthetics, and technical feasibility.

The ideal candidate would have the following software experience:

• Adobe CC (With a focus on XD).
• Figma (As a bonus).
• Sketch (As a bonus).
• Animation (As a bonus).
