Unit Manager Protection Services at Sibanye-Stillwater

Minimum Required Qualification:

• NQF Level 7 or National Diploma NQF Level 6 – Security Management or Law Enforcement

The Appointee should:

• A Degree NQF Level 7 or National Diploma NQF Level 6 – Security Management or Law Enforcement .
• Have a Minimum of 10 years work related experience in a security environment with 5 years in Superintendent capacity
• Have sound knowledge of applicable regulatory and legislative requirements, technology systems, best practice security scenarios and reduction works.
• Have a valid Grade A registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)) or the ability to obtain one within 3 months..
• Have the ability to obtain a firearm competency certificate issued by the SAPS as per the new Firearm Control Act, Act 60 of 2000
• Demonstrate sound communication skills in English (verbal and written) and be a self-assured well-disciplined individual with proven analytical skills
• Have sound business communication and report writing skills
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office Packages.
• Conduct research as well as analysis and interpretation of complex data
• Have sound knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Act, Act 51 of 1977 and the Mine Health and Safety Act, Act 29 of 1996
• Have knowledge of mining safety standards and security protocols.
• Have a valid code EB driver’s license
• Have a clear security record
• Be declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively operationalise the Protection Services strategy, through co-ordinating and managing the overall security functions, budget, and all other resources on the operation.
• Implement and control effective safety rules and practices to enable a safe functional environment for all PS personnel
• Continuous investigation and evaluation of the existing control environment and to put appropriate steps in place to improve and mature the existing control environment
• Implement and drive risk mitigation strategies to address the crime, security and ESG risk exposure to the company
• Implement and drive an Inclusive People Strategy to create a performance driven culture and connect the hearts and minds of the employees .Inclusively leading, motivating, developing, and training subordinates to create a unified performance driven team
• Enhance the efficiency of contract security provision to the company
• Fully integrate contract security service providers into the Operating Model and Tactics of Protection Services
• Ensuring a high standard of safety in the carrying out of all operations.
