Utilities Electrician - Rosslyn Brewery at The South African Breweries (SAB)

Key roles and responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
• Comply with safe, healthy & environmental procedures and legislations
• Maintain safety & housekeeping standards

Maintain and repair plant and associated devices

• Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation and or systems
• Plan and prepare the job
• Carry out repairs / maintenance
• Operate workshop equipment

• Communicate effectively in teams
• Contribute to self and team development

Work Orders Complete

• Backlog
• Satisfied customers – no rework
• Coordinates planned work with municipality electrical departments

Health, Safety and Environment

• Identification of unsafe practices
• Safety inspections conducted
• Safe maintenance practices audited

Minimum Requirements:

• N6 Engineering Studies
• Trade test qualification in Electrical Engineering

Training: 

• Min: 3 - 5 years in a packaging bottling production environment

Experience: 

• 1-3 Years technical mechanical/electrical and entire brewery experience in a 
• leadership capacity in a FMCG environment
• Brewing, Utilities & Packaging maintenance workshop experience

Additional Requirements:

• ORHVS Certificate as an authorised person to do operating, switching, earthing and safety testing
• Knowledge of transformers, metering, basic protection systems and maintenance
• Experience in maintaining a substation and an MCC room in a Power Utility Environment
• Knowledge of Electrical Safety Management and PTW system
• Knowledge of standby power system (Generators and UPS')
• Knowledge of SANS10142
• Knowledge of Motors, VSD's, Power Factor Correction system
