VMware Engineer - Cape Town at RSAWEB

Job Duties

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining our VMware and Veeam infrastructure.
• Implementing monitoring systems to track the health of our infrastructure and systems.
• Ensuring high availability and reliability of all systems in our infrastructure.
• Maintain related documentation.
• Engaging with new and existing clients to ensure seamless onboarding and effective use of our infrastructure.
• And any other reasonable task

Requirements

• VCP certification or relevant working experience
• Certified or solid experience working with Veeam Backup and Replication software
• Experience working with PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, MSSQL within the VMWare/Veeam ecosystem
• Understanding of networking and SAN in a server environment
• Excellent Troubleshooting Skills.
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application,
• Solid understanding of security related to encryption, certificates, and patch management.
• Proficiency with source-control tools (GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.)
• An understanding of deployment tools such as Chef and/or Ansible is advantageous,
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices
• Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Familiar with monitoring systems/tools e.g Netdata, Zabbix and Iris
• Server hardware experience.
