VOPS Brewing Supplier Management Coordinator at The South African Breweries (SAB)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead Quality Assurance across VOPs facilities through Zone-level coordination in line with VPO standards.
• Support facility Quality Managers and partners with VOPs leadership to implement, audit, and enforce QA policies and procedures.
• Oversee Quality Assurance across the full VOPS supply chain—from raw material intake to delivery at breweries.
• Act as a Quality Expert to VOPs leadership, driving continuous improvement in the Quality Management System.
• Manage quality requirements for brewing ingredients, auxiliary materials, and chemical inputs by engaging with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee supplier quality via programs like TraceGains and auditing practices, maintaining and updating the approved supplier list.
• Conduct regular and re-accreditation audits, and supports Supplier Development Initiatives.
• Report to the Zone Quality Manager and supports Food Safety, Quality Culture Programs, and VPO implementation at all facilities.
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the Quality Assurance value chain across the Zone through VPO-aligned practices.

\Minimum Requirements:

• BSc Degree or equivalent in Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• At least 3 to 5 years demonstrated experience in quality management, quality assurance and/or brewing management; a completed Brewing/ Quality Traineeship or Quality Manager experience would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Food Safety, Supplier Quality,  Laboratory Management, Specification Management, Legal Requirements as well Maltings, Brewing &  Packaging  knowledge.
• Knowledge of SAP,PTS, MES, Tracegains, Power BI  and the applicable digital tools associated with our Company
• Good understanding of Standard Work Practices and other VPO methodologies
