Wardhostess Northern Cape (HC) at Tsebo Solution

• Fedics in search for a Wardhostess who works individually on patient wards. The hostess will serve breakfast, lunch, supper and snacks in a very busy, fast paced environment. 

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Ensure patients have access to fresh ice water at all times.
• Keep hot beverage urns filled, operational, and switched on throughout service hours.
• Serve tea, coffee, and approved snack alternatives to patients as required.
• Accurately complete menu cards according to each patient's meal preferences.
• Return completed menu cards to the kitchen promptly to facilitate meal preparation.
• Update patient diet lists prior to each meal service.
• Communicate any dietary changes or special requirements immediately to the relevant personnel.
• Transport meal trolleys between the kitchen and wards in a safe, orderly, and timely manner, and return them after meal service.
• Verify that all meal trays are complete before loading them onto trolleys and before serving them to patients. Incomplete trays are not acceptable.
• Serve patient meals on trays and remove trays promptly once meals have been consumed.
• Ensure all cutlery is washed, cleaned, and accounted for after each meal service.
• Serve cutlery in designated cutlery bags at all times.
• Maintain responsibility and control of ward cutlery, ensuring it is securely stored when not in use.
• Keep the ward kitchen clean, organised, and hygienic at all times. Remove used trays immediately after meals and return them to the Fedics kitchen.
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times, including wearing the prescribed uniform and adhering to Fedics grooming and presentation standards.

Provide additional services to private patients, including:

• Delivery of their preferred daily newspaper.
• Refreshments for visiting immediate family members.
• A Healthwise chocolate served with evening tea or coffee.
• Access to order meals from the à la carte menu.
• Adhere to all hospital, client, and Fedics service standards, hygiene requirements, and food safety procedures.

• Knowledge of Fedics Hygiene & Quality Standards
• Well Presented, Neat & Professional Image
• Motivated self – starter
• Able to operate with little Supervision
• Flexible in terms of Working Hours – weekends/ public holidays (7 day operation)

Qualifications:

• Matric
• Previous experience in a hospital environment would be be Advantageous.
