WS 204/23 Senior Professional Officer at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• BSc Eng Civil / B Eng Civil or any other Engineering degree including BTech in Civil with Postgraduate coursework in wastewater process and design
• 5 years relevant experience in Project Management/design of Wastewater Treatment works
• At least 3 years experience in transacting on SAP Project Systems
• Required to work in all weather conditions
• Detailed knowledge of wastewater treatment design principles and implementation
• Knowledge of relevant I applicable local authority legislation, regulations and policies
• Detailed knowledge of capital works budgeting and cost control
• A valid EB driver's licence

Key Performance Areas

• Preparation of reports to the Head: Projects and Implementation with recommendations on costs etc. as well as preparing engineering designs specifications and drawings as well as the management of multi-disciplinary projects which would include investigations, scoping, feasibility studies, designs, project management, contract administration, construction supervision, commissioning and hand-over of major I minor future infrastructure, upgrades of present infrastructure and operational driven technical projects
• Designing the infrastructure, checking the tender drawings, compiling specifications, evaluating the tenders and liaising with Quantity Surveyors
• Provide engineering guidance and supervise, allocate jobs, train and mentor Engineers-in-training and Project Administrators
• Ensure correct and efficient contract administration as well as written communication with internal and external parties and the safekeeping thereof
• Prepare capital and operating impact within a planned project and manage and control expenditure against approved budget allocations
• Disseminate functional, planning project implementation and operational information
