About TASEZ (Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone)
The Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone (TASEZ) is Africa’s first automotive city, an industrial hub that provides investors with a wide range of offerings to help their business flourish.
We are a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) that is focused on growing South Africa’s automotive manufactu... read morering industry. This means we are ready to provide a number of financial and infrastructure incentives to make doing business that much easier.
SEZs were set up to accelerate South Africa’s industrial development by helping promote industrial agglomeration, build the required industrial infrastructure, promote coordinated planning among key government agencies and the private sector, and guide the deployment of other necessary development tools.
Our mandate is to transform the sector, acting as a catalyst for employment, boosting the country’s economic growth, and enabling socio-economic development.
TASEZ is well placed to do just that, providing a much-desired location close to an already established automotive industrial complex. The hub provides world-class customised solutions, incentives, support services and systems for manufacturers seeking excellence.
The hub has easy access to a strong consumer base, as well as connectivity to both suppliers and potential markets, including beyond South Africa’s borders.
Based in Silverton in the capital city of Tshwane in Gauteng, TASEZ is situated near to a number of suburbs and townships, including Mamelodi and Eersterust, that provide access to highly skilled labour. This allows for increased economies of scale and scope, lowering the cost of doing business.
With the automotive city covering more than 200ha, we have room for expansion. Currently we have a number of occupants who are leaders in the sector, including automotive manufacturer Ford and original equipment manufacturer Feltex.
