    Associate – Production Planning

    Job Description
    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    • To Place and expedite orders on Local Suppliers to ensure components arrive on time to meet the Master production Schedule, and there are no production losses arising from late or no supply of components. Communicate with Suppliers regularly, sending relevant reports, including Forecasts for supplier planning. Track engineering changes to ensure minimum to no obsolescence arising from changes. Ensure constant communication with the superintendent and manager regarding potential risks to production. Maintain excellent communication with internal customers.

    QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

    • Matric/Grade 12.
    • Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management or related qualification.
    • SAP experience.
    • 2-3 years’ experience in Manufacturing and Stores department.
    • Computer literacy in MS Word/Excel.
    • Strong collaboration skills.
    • Must be able to work in a pressurized environment.
    • Excellent communication skills.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Place new orders on suppliers for components required as per the MPS.
    • Send forecasts to suppliers timeously.
    • Run action list to view current priorities.
    • Keep priorities current by placing new orders, delaying, pulling forward and if required, cancelling open orders in keeping with changes to the MPS.
    • Notify suppliers regarding these actions.
    • Run daily shortage lists for 5-days horizon to highlight and track possible shortage of components for production.
    • Expedite orders to ensure components arrive on time and there are no production losses.
    • Maintain communication and physical checks with the stores for critical shortages on daily basis.
    • Monitor supplier receipts against delivery schedule and maintain zero outstanding orders.
    • Advise Material Planning of possible shortages and problems.
    • Check with suppliers for any anticipated problems regarding delivery of orders due for the near future.
    • Manage component monthly inventory levels in line with business targets.
    • Ensure reduction on return to Vendor stock.
    • Identify Bought-Out components obsolescence and introduce a reduction plan to minimize the obsolescence.
    • Taking ownership of your stocks/parts.
    • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety and Security regulations.
    • Ensure that good housekeeping is always maintained.

    Finance Admin Assistant

    Job Description

    • PURPOSE OF THE JOB:   Defy Finance, Midrand branch is looking for a dynamic and professional finance admin assistant. The person will be responsible for carrying out accounting, administrative and clerical support to all financial functions.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure accurate capturing on SAP and maintain up to date financial records.
    • Handle queries related to creditors, refunds and cash accounts
    • Prepare reconciliations for vendor accounts and process and manage creditors invoice.
    • Support month-end financial deadlines
    • Clearing of Agent accrual GL
    • Process and manage cash receipts
    • Liaise with various departments to ensure smooth operational processes.
    • Assist with Administrative duties, including filing.
    • Any ad-hoc duties which are assigned.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 + 3 years diploma in bookkeeping/accounting
    • Experience in Admin/Finance is advantageous
    • Proficiency in SAP and financial systems
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks efficiently

    Process Controller

    Job Description
    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    • This position is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Process Controller to join our team at defy Jacob’s plant. The Process Controller will be responsible for ensuring that all our parts meet quality standards by measuring and inspecting parts, conducting first-off and last-off inspections, and comparing results against master samples and engineering drawings.
    • Uphold the quality and safety of products within the functions they perform (listed in this document). In addition to this the employee is to complete all other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Check if Correct coil is used (Thickness, Grade, Material part number vs produced part).
    • First-off verification (Check measurement against master samples, drawings, checklist and jigs).
    • Hourly checks and using a checklist.
    • Last-Off verification and check sheet. (If damaged send with tool after marking the defect).
    • Verifying part visual appearance against Master Sample.
    • Verifying part measurements against Engineering Drawing.
    • DQT of coil (Roller marks, Dent, White rust, Width, Incorrect grade).
    • Complete and plugging of green sticker of dispatch component to the raw stores. (Card to be filled and placed on the stillages sign off on quality (Date, shift, Qty, Part number, Description).
    • Check the incoming coil for stickers and collect sample plates.
    • Prepare sample plates for tensile test and Helios test.

    Qualification / Minimum Requirements:

    • Matric Certificate or N3 Mechanical Engineering
    • Computer Literacy
    • Engineering Graphic Design (EGD) Subject.
    • Understanding of Technical Drawings, Tolerances and Clearances.
    • An experience with Usage Measuring Instruments will be advantageous

    Workshop Assistant

    Job Description

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Book and dispatch repaired units in the workshop.
    • Preparing quotations for cash repairs in the workshop
    • Follow up on repaired units and arranging collections/deliveries.
    • Check the warranty exchange returns and process the credits on SAP System.
    • Follow up on service exchanges invoices and PODs.
    • Responding to customer inquiries in the workshop
    • Assisting with daily workshop needs
    • General housekeeping of the workshop and refurb centre
    • Relieving the truck assistant

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • A minimum of Grade 12 with proven experience in a similar environment.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and paperwork.
    • Organizational and time management skills.
    • Customer service skills.
    • Computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software
    • Drivers License
