    Warehouse manager

    Job Summary

    • As a Warehouse Manager you will be responsible for complex tasks in connection with warehouse management. Parallel you will take responsibility  for team performance and KPI management as a people manager with 12 direct reports.
    • Our new Warehouse Manager role is based in our Johannesburg, South Africa site and is an onsite position.

    Responsibilities/Description

    • Plans, organizes, and monitors the following: shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities to ensure the most efficient utilization of employees and equipment. Responsible for guiding and supporting shipping and receiving activities to support the goal of having the right product, in the right place, at the right time, at the right quality level, at the lowest possible cost.
    • Promote proper storage/delivery of product by supervising activities of warehouse personnel engaged in shipping of finished product from production to either the appropriate warehouse or the customer. Includes accurately preparing necessary documentation (bills of lading, customer code numbers, labels, etc.)
    • Apply knowledge pertaining to the chemical/physical characteristics of all inbound materials, to plan and direct all receiving, storage and transfer activities to maximize storage space utilization.
    • Ensure accurate receipt of goods through receiving, documenting and appropriate disposition of raw materials, packaging, supplies, etc.
    • Assist in maintaining accurate inventories of finished product and intermediates by conducting periodic counts and recording or inputting data/computer transactions in a timely manner. Must be able to develop and implement corrective action for any inventory variances.
    • Develop an understanding of the shipping, storage, and handling requirements for all major product groups to plan/coordinate FG shipments. This includes both inter-company shipments as well as customer shipments. This also includes responsibility for ensuring that FIFO policies are satisfied.
    • Using our automated inventory management system, ensure that all physical movement and usage of raw materials, packaging and finished goods are accurately documented, and computer processed.
    • Promote customer service objectives by ensuring proper coordination between order entry, transportation, and warehouse schedules and activities to meet customer delivery dates and locations.
    • Utilize computer system capabilities to plan for customer orders, pull appropriate reports and pick lists, and support all customer specifications.
    • Review the performance of oFlow for on time delivery and proper reason codes.
    • Monitor and conduct MBR’s and activities at 3PL’s. Review monthly inventory and value of stock. Review monthly for accuracy and submit invoices on a timely manner.
    • Develop annual budget of expenses and establish cost controls to manage expenses within established guidelines.
    • Track warehouse performance/productivity and issue reports as requested.
    • Monitor SFDC for complaints. Ensure root cause and correctives actions on complaints are satisfactory to prevent further issues. Look for complaint trends and opportunities for improvement.

    Requirements

    • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain
    • 4-5 years of experience with shipping and receiving in a manufacturing, distribution or continuous processing environment.
    • Project management experience
    • Experience with or ability to learn an automated inventory management system
    • Experience in direct people management
    • Experience in budget setting/budget management
    • Knowledge of Warehouse Procedures in a food or pharma environment
    • Knowledge of transportation (types, carriers, rules, incoterms).
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)

    • Proficient SAP skills across full supply functional horizon.

    Senior Seasoning Flavorist/ Team Leader Snacks

    • The Senior Seasoning Flavorist works independently & as team member on all brief types. He/She works closely with sales on a regional level to drive creation & modification of winning Seasonings and demonstrates creative leadership in working with a regional team to maximize IFF technology & innovative practices.
    • The position involves strong interaction with customers, other technical teams, sales, operations, regulatory affairs, and global purchasing.

    Major responsibilities include:

    • Executing snack food customer briefs and commercial technology validation/implementation for the region. 
    • Building cooperative relationships with other regional category technical counterparts essential for leveraging company technical resources in support of global briefs and technology implementation. 
    • Developing consumer preferred flavor systems for key regional and global opportunities within project teams in focus categories. 
    • Providing leadership to advance strategic category initiatives.  
    • Providing cross-functional Project Management when designated as project leader.
    • Independently developing seasoning blends/flavor solutions that are market preferred through bench top product development, leveraging culinary input, technical innovation, and consumer insights.

    • Providing insight and technical input for strategies to grow our business.
    • Providing seasonings product development support to our customers to include building and sustaining relationships across multiple levels and functions within customer’s organizations.

    • Anticipating, investigating, and resolving issues related to raw materials, flavor systems, finished prototypes, and initial scale up procedures.
    • Participating directly and providing cross-functional leadership in strategic category and platform initiatives to build directed seasoning capabilities.
    • Participating in development programs for both trainee and junior Seasoning Flavorists.
    • Sets project and team priorities to ensure timely execution

    Required Experience

    Customer Services Manager

    Job Summary

    • The role is responsible for the end-to-end Order To Cash process in order to ensure on-time order fulfilment in Business-to-Business support at sub-regional level, and direct people management of country or sub-regional Customer Service organization.

    Responsibilities/Description

    • Supervise the end-to-end Order to Cash process based on Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance policy and customer complaint and service case management in daily operations of sub-regional customer service organization

    Designer II

    Job Summary

    • A Designer Level II exhibits proven design and project planning ability utilizing creativity, innovation and presentation skills to provide best in class support to IFF clients. In this role, the Designer has an established knowledge of recipe ingredients, customer bases, processes and flavor interactions in associated Category applications. The position requires refined problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills to liaise directly with customers confidently. A Designer Level II works independently on all assigned projects, and collaboratively on strategic, must-win and high value projects.

    Responsibilities/Description:

    • Independently selects and recommends appropriate solutions in compliance with client profile, legal, cost and stability requirements
    • Work cross functionally with teams to develop new or modify existing solutions, recipes and/or processes
    • Provide a high standard of technical support to both internal and external customers in a professional, timely manner with accurate and detailed technical project work
    • Reviews, renews and renovates Flavor and Ingredient portfolios in line with established metrics
    • Develops and improves finished product formulations using knowledge of industrial standards, country specific and client requirements

    Shop Floor Improvement Specialist

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for analyzing and maintaining warehouse and shop floor, master data of all nourish and scent plants
    • Development of new shop floor strategies, standardization, continuous improvement and implementation of best practices and standards.
    • Manage and control shop floor master data through regular analysis for the plant to ensure the most efficient use of resources of man, material, and machine 
    • Responsible for achieving the best possible production flow in the plant and convert this flow into a smooth working and invisible background process through the facility

Be aware and apply to role as required, the requirements of IFF external operational audits needs (SEDEX, URSA, ISO14001, NSF, LAS, FSSC)
    • Effectively coordinate with the interface such as QC, Warehouse, Technical Commercial Manager, Production and Distribution for an efficient, cost effective and customer-based purchasing flow (e.g. on time delivery and per agreed quality).  Maintain strong communications with these.  Aim at continuous systems improvement
