You are responsible for the control of all incoming materials and custodian of measuring and testing equipment /methods. You handle non-conforming materials and continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Custodian of materials specifications
- Control incoming materials (accept or reject)
- Implement sampling plans and testing methods.
- Manage material retention and reference samples.
- Identify non-conforming materials (making a disposition decision)
- Raise non-conformances, communicate to supplier and procurement.
- Drive non-conformance closure.
- Manage validation, calibration and verification of measurement and testing equipment.
- Ensure that only validated methods are used.
- Drive GLP’s
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Participate in/or develop proficiency testing schemes.
- Ensure adherence to sampling, handling and testing schedules.
- Interpret results (accept or reject)
- Provide professional opinion in case of non-conforming results, where required.
- Raise non-conformance and communicate processes to manufacturing/site quality manager /lead.
- Analyze test results of materials and trend data to identify CI opportunities.
- Verify measurement and testing equipment data for trend to identify CI opportunities.
- Drive quality continuous improvement programs.
- Participate in Tiger Brands MECP activities.

- To maintain mechanical and Electrical equipment in good order by adhering to maintenance procedures to enable Production Department to meet production targets.

- Machinery available and utilized to full capacity
- Planned maintenance executed and improved operational efficiency at all machines assigned to the position
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance / repairs on equipment
- Complete Preventative maintenance schedules.
- To minimise plant downtime through efficient & effective maintenance
- Rewiring of electrical machinery with a view to effective improvements
- Overhaul spare / old machinery to be available when breakdowns occur
- Maintain site services
- To minimise plant downtime through efficient & effective maintenance in line with good engineering practice & the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures
- To efficiently manage stocks of spares & equipment needed to maintain Plant
- To maximise Plant efficiency through continuous improvement
- To adhere to Company health and safety procedures and the OHS Act
- Participate in problem solving sessions (RCAs)
- Coach Operators on Quick Fix routines and Autonomous Maintenance
- Participate in FMEAs
QUALIFICATIONS

- Academic – Matric or equivalent, N3 Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanics Trade test (trade tested Millwright)

Experience
- Function – 5 years working experience working as Millwright
- Experience on Acepak Shrink wrappers, Universal Pack Sachet filling machines, MV reticulation systems and Allen Bradley PLCs/Siemens PLCs
- Industry – Experience in FMCG industry desirable
