    Security Operations Centre (SOC) Analyst Level 1

    As a Security Operations Centre (SOC) Analyst you will be responsible to provide dedicated “eyes on glass” monitoring and analysis capability for SOC operations. You will also conduct analysis of security events to include validation, escalation and reporting of events of interest based on the guidelines and event handlers provided. The SOC Analyst will be responsible for the all such events of interest and will make sure they are continuously monitored and reviewed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    General

    • Monitoring and analysis of cyber security events
    • Services monitored will include, but are not limited to SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewall, Web Application Firewalls, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), DAM, ePO
    • Security Event Correlation and Reporting to appropriate Tier 2 Security Analyst or Incident Response staff or relevant sources to determine increased risk to the business
    • Recognize potential; successful; and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information
    • Monitoring that all Security tools are working properly
    • Check external feedback from other teams on a daily basis and apply the results effectively
    • Get feedback from the shift team on a weekly basis and assist where possible to address points of frustration

    Monitoring Management

    • Updates inaccurate and add missing knowledge base documents where required
    • Handles escalations effectively, ensuring a minimal number of duplicate escalations created
    • When acknowledging alerts, ensures alerts are closed at the end of every shift
    • Monitors alerts and incidents diligently by actioning them in a timeous manner
    • Investigates alerts using the systems provided and adds investigation details to escalated incident descriptions
    • Reports back on identified trends that may be forming and/or proactive actions taken to reduce spam
    • Ensures all tasks/incidents are assigned to the correct support teams

    • Security Operations Center (SOC) environment experience with at least 1 years of IT to include 1+ years of related SOC and incident monitoring experience a MUST

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    Key Responsibilities include the following:

    Job Responsibilities

    Employee Relations

    • Guide and assist managers with any necessary investigations regarding Operational issues, as required
    • Highlight any issues you identify that need to be addressed
    • Ensure knowledge of Labour legislation is kept up to date

    Observability Engineer Level 2

    Responsibilities
    System Administration of Observability Solutions

    • Create and maintain roles, environments and machines in the CMDB
    • Create and maintain alerting from all logging technologies including but not limited to ElasticSearch, InfluxDB, Prometheus, SCOM, Graphite, Azure Monitor
    • Ensure retention policies are effectively managing data retention in ElasticSearch, InfluxDB, Prometheus, SCOM, Graphite, Azure Monitor
    • Ensure roles, environments and machines are kept in sync between CMDB, various logging platforms and the Ansible deployment services.

    Automation

    • Deployment and administration of new and existing tools
    • Implement standards and procedures set out for the Automated Deployment solution using automation where feasible
    • Prototype and develop new tools
    • Research new technology trends and logging technologies tools to remain abreast of current technology
    • Troubleshoot and fix bugs reported in existing tools

    Documentation/User Guides     

    • In conjunction with key stakeholders it responsible for the development of user guides and training documentation for systems.
    • Documents functions and changes to new or modified modules and test activities/results.
    • Maintain Observability of Infrastructure and Applications in Dev and Production
    • Apply updates to logging software when necessary to ensure logging technologies can take advantage of the latest features and bug fixes

    Vendor Management

    • Work with vendors to resolve problems and develop solutions.

    Deployment     

    • Builds automated deployments using configuration management technology.
    • Deploys new modules, upgrades and fixes to logging and metrics technologies across the dev and production datacenters
    • Documents and completes knowledge transfer to support.
    • Validates deployments.

    Development     

    • Performs script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementations
    • Assists with setup and maintenance of all logging and metrics environments for all Derivco (dev and production data centers) and its operators / customers.
    • Codes and documents custom observability frameworks.
    • Develops and/or implements reusable components.
    • Develops/ builds IT solutions to meet business requirements.
    • Installs and configures solutions.
    • Integrates solutions with other applications and platforms outside of the framework.
