    Finance Intern

    Internship Objectives

    • The purpose of the internship is to provide exposure and experience in the Finance department at SANRAL, Eastern Region. This exciting opportunity will enable graduates to work with skilled financial experts on various sub-section in an aim to fulfil the overall Finance Mandate.

    Education

    • Equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification in Accounting or Finance

    Key Responsibilities

    • Under the supervision of the Financial Controller, the intern will be exposed to and assist with:

    Account Payable 

    • Assist in checking the correctness of payment certificate and fees claim to ensure compliance of PMFA.
    • Check the completeness, accurate, valid of the invoices and compliant to SCM processes. Ensuring that invoices are supported and attached to sufficient and appropriate evidence (SCM memos, PO’s and approvals). Expenses are captured in the correct period and classified in correct GL codes.
    • Compare purchase order with services, goods receipt, and invoice before processing on the financial system.
    • Assist in processing payments timeously for creditors in accordance with PFMA requirements.
    • Capture invoices into the financial systems and ensure invoices are captured against the correct cost centre and correct general ledger.
    • Ensure monthly Account Payable checklists are completed to ensure all quality controls are maintained.
    • Assist the finance team with preparing the payment proposal every week.
    • Ensure accounts payable month end reconciliations are reconciled monthly, within 5 days after period closure.
    • Assist with the petty cash requisitions and prepare petty cash reconciliations at month end before the period closure.
    • Assist the reporting team with information required for month end and financial year end
    • Ensure accounts payable service is provided as per the policy & procedure
    • Assist with admin duties relating to vendor accounts.

    Account Receivable

    • Assist in creating customer numbers in the financial system.
    • Ensure completeness of invoices issued in relation to customer agreements.
    • Ensure that outstanding debt is continuously followed up as per the bad debts policy.
    • Assist in preparing monthly reconciliations for all accounts receivables.
    • Assist the reporting team with information required for monthly reporting.
    • Assist with preparing the write-off bad debts memo’s in accordance with the existing bad debts policy.

    Asset management 

    • Assist in conducting physical asset verifications of fixed assets for the Region (Toll Plazas and the office) according to policies.
    • Assist in preparing the memorandums for asset write-offs and submissions to the Asset Disposal Committee.
    • Assist with forwarding of invoices to Head Office for additional assets identified.
    • Responsible for the printing of assets tag and tagging of new assets and old assets.
    • Perform duties assigned by the Asset Financial Controller.

    General Administration 

    • Ensure that remittance advices are forwarded to service providers after payment runs.
    • Assist in coordinating the information for the AG and Internal Audit RFIs.
    • Timeous submission of correct information to the Auditors.
    • Perform administrative duties during Internal & External audit.
    • Perform secretariat function for meetings.
    • Ensure that filing is done on monthly basis.
    • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

    Change Management and Communication Specialist

    POSITION OBJECTIVE

    • SANRAL is in the process of implementing its revised Operating Model and therefore seeks to appoint a Change Management and Communication Specialist to support change initiatives regarding the Operating Model Transition process.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • A National Diploma in Organisational Psychology, Human Resources / Social Sciences / Organisational Development or an equivalent qualification.
    • At least eight years of job-related change management experience with large-scale organisational change.

    ADVANTAGEOUS

    • A Bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
    • Change Management Accreditation by one of the following would be ideal:
    • Prosci.
    • The Association of Change Management Professional™ (ACMP).
    • APMG and The Change Management Institute (CMI).

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

    • Change Management knowledge and skills.
    • Business Engagement Management knowledge.
    • Stakeholder Management knowledge and skills.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to clearly explain/communicate complex information and data.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Deliver change management and communication plan for the Operating Model Transition process.
    • Coordinate and align communication messages and communication rollouts across multiple channels.
    • Prepare materials for use in the Operating Model Transition Information Sharing Sessions.
    • Stakeholder engagement - support for employees who will be facilitating the Operating Model Transition Information Sharing Sessions.
    • Collate and organise frequently asked questions, information, findings and other outcomes from the Operating Model Transition Information Sharing Sessions.
    • Create and manage measurement systems to track adoption and proficiency of individual changes.
    • Identify anticipated points of resistance and manage this to acceptance and adoption or implement corrective action.

    Risk Administrator

    POSITION OBJECTIVE

    • The Risk Administrator will provide administrative support to the Risk department.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • A National Diploma in office management or office administration.
    • At least three years of experience in a risk administration environment.
    • Experience in the GRC system will be an added advantage.

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

    • Methodical.
    • Accurate and pays attention to detail.
    • Sound organising and planning skills.
    • Good communication and minute-taking skills.
    • Computer literacy, Administrative and good interpersonal relations skills.

    • Provide general administrative support to the Risk department.
    • File all documentation such as departmental reports, signed minutes, signed memos, and signed invoices on an Electrical Document Management System (EDMS).
    • Action insurance-related requests such as setting up meetings, provide feedback and ensure that Head Office claims are actioned.
    • Record, and file insurance legal summons received through the from reception.
    • Ensure that all invoices are signed and paid timeously.
    • Action any admin-related tasks on SAP.
    • Setup Risk Focus Group meetings and manage all admin-related logistics including minute-taking.

    ICT: Support Technician Intern

    Internship Objective
     

    • The purpose of the position is to provide assistance on-site or end user support – excellent response time, provisioning of quality support and problem resolution agreed with the customer in line with the SANRAL ICT support standards and requirements. This position will require you to assist other members of ICT in their daily operations, as well as learning to perform their duties as to even the workload.

    Education

    • A Grade 12 Senior Certificate
    • NQF Level 6/7 IT Diploma/Degree or Equivalent

    IT Desktop Support Technician

    POSITION OBJECTIVE

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

    • A Grade 12/ Senior Certificate.

    Ensure end-user satisfaction: Application and Desktop Support

    • Ability to effectively administer, troubleshoot and maintain user applications etc.
    • Support and administration for end-user applications such as Microsoft 365, Video Conferencing equipment including Microsoft teams, OpenText (Electronic Document Management system and   Coreshare), SANRAL Website, Printing services and Avaya telephony system.
    • Providing understandable and clear guidance and knowledge transfer following the implementation of technology solutions or during the course delivering Root Cause Analyses.
    • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot associated network and end user’s devices.
    • Liaise with and provide end-user training on equipment operations and all SANRAL applications.
    • Assist ICT Service Delivery lead with technical specifications on procurement of IT services.
       

    Ensure end-user satisfaction: Incident management

    • Managed calls logged with helpdesk and ensure all calls logged are responded to and resolved within the agreed SLA.
    • Timely escalation of incidents/calls with 3rd-level support.
    • Proactively notifying the IT Service Delivery Lead and Infrastructure lead about issues related to failure or poor performance of SANRAL Core systems and networks.
       

    Enhance Information Security: User Access Control and Application Compliance.

    • User Account Administration (Create, Modify, Terminate) on Active Directory, Exchange, SAP and other ICT systems.
    • Build, deploy and monitor OS updates, Standard software updates and Microsoft Patches.
    • Monthly monitoring of OS and Software Patches.
    • Security Vulnerability Management and remediation.
       

    Enhance Information Security: ICT Audits

    • Participate in overall ICT Audit
    • Ensure that reviewed users’ access on all ICT systems are actioned timely.
    • Ensure that all systems and devices are patched according to the patch management policy and procedure.
    • Assist ICT Service Delivery Lead and Infrastructure Lead to remediate all audit findings within scheduled timeframes agreed with the Auditor General and Internal Audit.
       

    Enhance Information Security: IT Asset management.

    • Overall ICT assets management (Issuing, Tagging, disposals, verification).
       

    Other Duties 

    • Perform other duties as assigned.
