    Commercial Business Developer

    Role Description

    Reporting to the sales and marketing manager, this company requires a commercial business developer. The role serves to assist with the further development of a growing B2B fintech lending business.

    This role will play a crucial role in assisting with the expansion of current acquisition and sales channels as well as identifying and developing new channels of business opportunities. Innovation will be critical to continue to establish the company brand. This company requires someone who is results-oriented, data-driven and clear thinking, working with pioneering products and cutting-edge technology in a young and rapidly growing company, within a close-knit team to:

    • Actively source new business channels
    • Work with the team and external agencies to define the brand messaging, positioning and completive angle
    • Continue the development of loan referral/broker/intermediary networks with associated incentive structures

    This position is Cape Town based but will require travelling throughout the country from time to time.

     

    Salary

    • R35,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience)

     

    Responsibilities

    Marketing

    • Assist with the identification of new marketing sources in line with current industry trends
    • Track and analyse the performance of digital marketing campaigns (SOE, GSN, GDN and other) in collaboration with outsource ad agency
    • Working with outsourced ad agency and internal team to develop all media, online and print content

    Lead Provider and Broker Programme

    • Cultivate relationships with potential brokers and referral sources to build a growing new business pipeline
    • Provide consistent and quality support for all referral and business partners
    • Identify industries and opportunities in which to develop new loan referral networks
    • Develop and maintain a detailed contact database of opportunities and existing brokers
    • Meet required lead provider growth targets
    • Marketing and Industry events
    • Assist in the design and implementation of marketing programs in order to generate additional customer leads
    • Participate in trade show/industry events in order to generate additional loan referral sources
    • Develop/assist with the reporting and analysis of acquisition/front end statistics. Provide insights
    • of these results

    Client interaction

    • Engage with clients and lead providers to obtain feedback on our service offering, processes and
    • externally facing tools to gain insights on these areas
    • Work closely with the underwriting team ensuring smooth and efficient customer on-boarding
    • Engage with operational team to effectively manage and improve the customer journey and broker interaction
    • Engage with our tech specialists, internal and external, to provide learnings from customer and brokers to identify ways to improve tech UI, customer experience and overall product improvement

    Research

    • Keep abreast the current future market trends and industry changes
    • Identify competitors and keep up to date on their business models (e.g. suppliers, platforms, pricing, product offerings, customer retention strategies, etc)
    • Regularly provide field-originated market intelligence and feedback regarding trends, industry needs, and customer preferences that assist in marketing and planning of initiatives to develop both new and existing accounts as well as develop our product offering and how we interact with clients and prospective clients

     

    Requirements

    • 2-3 years’ experience in a new business development/or sales environment, preferably in a financial institution
    • Marketing or business studies related tertiary qualification (Degree / Diploma) is preferred
    • Experience in assisting with the development of digital platforms and UI to improve and steer customer behaviour
    • Experience with the development of product road maps and customer journeys
