    Specialist: Actuarial Services (Technician) (Menlyn)

    Description
    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Maintain optimal system accuracy and performance from a values and functionality  perspective
    • Assist with implementation and test automation of system programs for correctness on the administration system
    • Assist with automation and integration of other Assupol Group divisions on the administration system
    • Provide accurate and easily accessible information for optimal client servicing (TCF)
    • Contribute to product development
    • Research of new market developments.
    • Compare pricing & design of products with competitors
    • Test quotation packages for new products (and product reviews)
    • Assist in the development of application forms, sales aids, premium calculators, marketing material and other product material used by Sales (in compliance with legislation and ASISA Codes)
    • Maintenance of reinsurance treaties
    • Provide data and information to reinsurers for special projects
    • Compile and submit reinsurance data and premiums to reinsurers on a monthly basis
    • Provide professional input & support to the Group (amendments & general advice)
    • Answer client queries of a technical nature that was escalated to Actuarial Support
    • Attend to ombudsman queries of a technical nature
    • Validate amendments to policies where actuarial support is required
    • Assist with values and product related queries from other Assupol departments (letters to be written, values queries and tax directive management)
    • Updating of financial transactions
    • Implementation of investment portfolio returns on the administration system
    • Monitoring of in-force business
    • Analyse in-force data
    • Perform analysis on lapse and mortality/morbidity experience
    • Administration of the Assupol retail pension funds
    • Produce annual RA certificates for mailing to clients
    • Assist with compilation of the report for the quarterly Fund Trustee Meeting

    Specialist: Business Analysis (Menlyn)

    Description
    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Business Relationship Management (BRM)
    • Determine relative priority for Change Requests per department.
    • Communicate with business leadership to evaluate joint initiatives and proposals to see how they align with established roadmaps and business priorities.
    • Ensure joint initiatives are set up for success and aligned with the corporate strategy.
    • Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
    • Communicate and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders and project manager regarding risks, dependencies and assumptions.
    • Contribute, generally, as a member of the project delivery team to the successful delivery of approved project outputs
    • Business Impact Assessment (BIA)
    • Determine high level requirements, business drivers and a rough sizing of projects.
    • Identify business areas which will be impacted by implementation.
    • Each area identified may need to address changes to its people, processes and technology.
    • Identify a set of stakeholders that need to be involved in creating and validating business requirements.
    • Business Requirement Specification (BRS)
    • Compile elicit requirements using interviews (one-on-ones), document analysis, requirements workshops (JAD Sessions), surveys, site visits (sitting with users), use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, process and workflow analysis.
    • Acquire a good understanding of the business and current relevant processes with associated benefits, limitations and faults as well as the impact on other processes and applications.
    • Document the Business Requirements Specifications (BRS) (which may include business processes, user stories, workflow diagrams, etc).
    • Review the BRS with the client, using appropriate formats such as presentations and walk-through discussions.
    • Obtain sign-off on BRS from relevant stakeholders.
    • Break the work into features and sequence it onto the various product backlogs.
    • Maintain project documentation on Confluence.
    • Ensure all standards and quality of documentation is adhered to, and follow the process of business sign-off at each stage of the life-cycle.
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Preparation
    • Prepare and plan testing.
    • Conduct user acceptance testing on basis of requirements.
    • Once business (super users) proceed to UAT, handle client queries and do analysis on errors (if required).
    • Refer errors back to development team, and maintain logging and documentation aspects.
    • Validate and verify the test results obtained by others in the team.
    • Once testing is complete, obtain client sign-off on testing.

    • Generate ideas within a collaborative environment using a range of BA techniques.
    • Drive to maximize efficiencies and mission execution (business analysis as a service is not only needed but it is an equally critical component in the orchestration and the delivery of value back to business).
    • Provide recommendations for technology improvements (e.g., existing application platforms, digital transformation, smart applications, tracking and fraud database management, or monitoring, response, and data analysis).
    • Identify needs and opportunities and communicate them to the BA centre of excellence.
    • Engage and participate with technology innovators (Fintech, InsurTech, etc.) to bring proposed solutions to scale.
    • Be actively involved in the industry forums by attending conferences, workshops and webinars

    Requirements
    Formal Education:

    • IT related degree/diploma
    • Dip.BA (FTI or relevant)

    Experience:

    • 5 years’ experience in Business Analysis
    • 2 years’ experience in IT Development
    • 3 years’ experience in working in a Project driven environment
    • Experience in an Agile environment is essential
