    Intern – Product Design

    • We are currently on a search for an Intern – Product Design  to join the largest manufacturer and distributor of major appliances in Southern Africa, to be based in Durban, Jacobs.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To manage and implement platform projects from conceptual phase to implementation.
    • To design products/components and/or make improvements/changes to existing products/components in line with market requirements and trends.
    • To manage and implement cost reduction/quality improvement projects.
    • To ensure products comply with standard requirements.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement, implement changes and document changes made
    • Complete assigned projects, from cradle to Grave
    • Improve Efficiency’s in current manufacturing methods
    • Support Current Process Engineers, in project implementations and completions
    • Analyse data to identify required areas of improvement.
    • Complete 2D and 3D drawings of required components, suitable for manufacturing
    • Support Defy Ezakheni Process Engineering team, with productivity projects
    • MIP project implementation
    • Reduce cost of operations

    MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

    • BSc or National Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering Degree
    • knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD
    • Microsoft Packages
    • Excellent communication
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Valid Driver’s license and willingness to travel to Ezakheni

    Associate – Demand Planner

    • We are currently on a search for an Associate – demand planner to join the largest manufacturer and distributor of major appliances in Southern Africa, to be based in Durban, Jacobs. The purpose of the role will be order management focusing on outsourced finished goods. Collaborating with outsourced suppliers to ensure production takes place as per stipulated lead times to avoid stock shortages in the business.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Attending monthly IPS bought out meetings to establish production requirements for order placements and rolling forecasts.
    • Creation of purchase orders on SAP for all new orders to be placed.
    • Sharing new orders with suppliers based on container loads and lead times. Also, actioning all order cancellations and postponements.
    • Cross-checking and signing off PI’s before sharing back to suppliers.
    • Tracking production for orders until they are in stock and ready for shipment.
    • Updating of imports finished goods study to flag any potential stock challenges or risks.
    • Updating of production on IPS based on latest ETA’s provided by imports logistics.
    • Working cross-functionally with various departments including product management and imports logistics team.
    • Closely tracking daily sales report and suggesting top up orders for models selling more than forecast.
    • Adhoc stock studies.
    • Monthly reporting.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 2 - 4 years of experience in a supply chain environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft excel and SAP.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
    • Attention to detail and ability to multiple task.

    Finance Admin Assistant

    • We are currently on a search for a finance administration assistant  to join the largest manufacturer and distributor of major appliances in Southern Africa, to be based in the Defy Bloemfontein branch. The role will be responsible for carrying out accounting, administrative and clerical support to all financial functions at the branch.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to reconcile accounts accurately and timeously.
    • Prepare waybills and parcels/ branch documents via courier to correct destination.
    • Purchasing of groceries and consumables for the branch.
    • Prepare purchases orders on request.
    • Assist Debtors team with PODs and queries.

    Cash office

    • Accurately generate receipts for Debit/Credit cards and EFT payments.
    • Identify deposits on the DS and match to worklist.
    • Daily balance the float at the branch.
    • Complete bank transit posting daily (Post to BIT account)
    • File all documentation according to the agreed filing protocols.
    • Process refunds in a timely manner aligned with the SOP in place.
    • Petty Cash, reconciling petty cash vouchers to request for replenishment of petty cash.
    • Ensure audit deliverables maintained according to the standard required by the auditors.
    • Any ad-hoc duties which are assigned.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 and or Diploma in Bookkeeping / Accounting.
    • Minimum of 1 – 5 years work experience in similar role.
    • Solid understanding of basic Bookkeeping and Accounting principles.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word-processing programs at a highly proficient level.
    • Customer service orientated with high working standard.
    • Computer literate – must be accurate and pay attention to detail.
    • SAP Knowledge.
    • Excel Knowledge.
