    Data Capturer

    Key Performance Areas

    Support the efficient and effective functioning of NACOSA’s USAID funded Community-based Violence Prevention and Linkages to Response award in the City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, by providing support in the data capturing department. These tasks include, but is not limited to:

    • Capturing beneficiary details completely and correctly on a Data Management system
    • Perform first-line quality checks on the completeness and accuracy of information.
    • Ensure incomplete files are raised and returned for corrections.
    • Assist with the management of hard copy files, as may needed, including, carrying boxes, filing, scanning, etc.
    • Assist, as may be needed, with basic data validation tasks.
    • Compile or extract weekly reports for line managers on the reach of the programme
    • Participate in weekly planning meetings to facilitate improved data flow, capturing and reporting.
    • Uphold and exemplify NACOSA, its vision, mission, values and objectives, etc.

    Requirements

    • Matric or an equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
    • At least 1 year’s general administration experience
    • High attention to detail and an orientation toward delivering high quality work
    • Ability to work under pressure and work fast and accurately
    • Ability to work in a team
    • Target driven
    • High levels of Computer literacy- databases, MS Excel intermediate

    Programme Coordinator

    The Programme Coordinator Role

    • The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, Aids-free, Mentored and Safe (DREAMS) programme provides a comprehensive package of core interventions to address key factors that make adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) particularly vulnerable to HIV. These include structural factors, such as gender-based violence, exclusion from economic opportunities, and a lack of access to secondary school. DREAMS layers multiple interventions at once so that AGYW are surrounded with critical support to keep them safe from HIV and other risks.
    • The Programme Coordinator position will support and deliver on NACOSA’s USAID funded Community-based Violence Prevention and Linkages to Response in SA Programme. This HIV and GBV Prevention Programme focuses on delivering both evidence-based group interventions to AGYW and adolescent boys (aged 15-24 years), as well as services to survivors of sexual violence (females aged 10-24 years).

    NACOSA is looking for experienced Programme Coordinators to deliver on the following key performance areas:

    • Performance management on a day-to-day basis, including guidance and support of implementation staff to meet weekly targets in terms of recruitment, enrolment and completion of GBV prevention group-based interventions
    • Managing and tracking of daily staff attendance, leave monitoring and ensuring accurate submission of monthly time sheets by staff
    • Conduct weekly, monthly, quarterly planning and microplanning with facilitators to ensure daily activities implemented are geared towards meeting of targets that includes planning for recruitment and enrolment activities, setting up group sessions with beneficiaries enrolled, securing safe spaces, arranging catering and planning vehicle utilization.
    • Developing contingency plans and utilizing problem solving to overcome day to day challenges such as poor recruitment turnout, staff being off sick e.g. shifting staff around to ensure targets are still reached on a daily basis
    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support the smooth implementation of evidence- based group interventions
    • Develop and implement a strategy to meet sub-district targets (recruitment, demand creation and uptake of services) of the two group-based interventions
    • Support the appointment and supervision and debriefing of suitable staff to implement group-based interventions
    • Provide continuous quality assessment and improvement strategies wrt the delivery of programs
    • Develop tools to ensure bi-directional referral pathways for successful linkages for DREAMS AGYW to health, education and social support services.
    • Engage fellow DREAMS partners on co-location and micro-planning of services to ensure successful referral of all eligible AGYW to relevant DREAMS partner services
    • Work closely with the M&E team to refine and build on the suite of M&E tools in place so as to ensure the monitoring tools are fit for purpose
    • Document challenges, best practices and success stories

    Requirements

    Required qualifications, skills and experience

    NACOSA are looking for an experienced Programme Coordinator with a successful track record of programme management.

    • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Social Science/Public Health or related discipline.
    • Minimum of 3 years specific HIV prevention related work experience in the health and social development sectors, and preferably in the field of OVC, AGYW and/or survivors of sexual violence
    • Experience in managing direct implementation teams and attainment of intervention targets
    • Well established community/stakeholder relationship building track record/ability to network and navigate communities
    • Experience in programme planning, implementation, management and M&E
    • Problem solving skills and ability to think on your feet
    • Knowledge about: HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health; HIV Testing Services; GBV programming; evidence-informed and rights-based programming for survivors of GBV, particularly for adolescent girls and young women.
    • Excellent communications skills in English, including the ability to guide implementers on the programme.
    • Must be analytically minded and have excellent writing skills, including the ability to compile insightful and user-friendly reports.
    • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with experience of web-based data systems
    • Must be highly organised, deadline driven and efficient with planning skills and a proactive and positive approach.
    • Ability to work well in a team environment, and to coordinate multiple inputs to tight deadlines, with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
    • Understanding of the NGO sector and knowledge of big donor processes/requirements will be a benefit.
    • Driver’s license non-negotiable

    Admin Assistant

    THE KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS OF THE ROLE ARE: 

    • Day to day office support and administration assistance to the Programme Specialist and programme team
    • Assist with procurement administration, including obtaining quotes from suppliers for programme related services, submitting invoices to finance
    • Assist with transporting supplies, equipment, commodities and collection of documents from the field
    • Assist with locating venues for implementation sessions within selected communities.
    • Assist with keeping a logbook register (refreshments being disbursed to participants, disbursement of airtime or data to the programme team)
    • Develop and maintain a network of working level external contacts.
    • Liaison with third parties (i.e. caterers, venues) as required.
    • Assemble materials (stationery, printing, etc.) for meetings and trainings.
    • Document management and filing, including electronic filing on central database.
    • Maintain office supplies and equipment inventory as required.
    • Maintain administrative records including meeting minutes and reports.
    • Maintain programme team calendar of events, key meetings; training calendar.
    • Supply chain monitoring of key commodities for programme interventions.
    • Ad-hoc duties as required by the project.

    Requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE  

    • Matric certificate or equivalent NQF qualification.
    • An Office/Business Administration Certificate or Diploma would be a strong recommendation.
    • Minimum of 2 years Administrative and / or PA experience.
    • Strong computer knowledge (Excel, Word and PowerPoint, E-mails, Internet).
    • Previous experience arranging flight bookings, finance admin, procurement and training logistics.
    • Be fully conversant in spoken and written English and be able to communicate at ease with all levels of staff and clients.
    • Experience working in NGO/NPO field will be advantageous
    • Strong attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills.
    • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle

    Monitoring & Evaluation IT Officer

    • The M&E IT Officer will add critical skills to the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team as S/he will provide high IT skills and act as a link between M&E and IT service providers. The person will build a strategy for the governance of all data. S/he assists in creating links between IT, strategy and statistics. S/he will fulfill the following duties: data governance, IT controls, IT security, IT support, application service provider liaison, and product setup. 

    The key performance areas of the role are:

    • Creating and enforcing policies for effective data management from data collection, through data storage, and into analytics reporting.
    • Understanding, maintaining, and enhancing the data system requirements within the Global Fund (GF) grant.
    • Act as the main point of contact between NACOSA and various IT services providers for data management system related issues.
    • Support data analysis, when necessary, in order to determine root cause of data challenges in the system.
    • Lead the setup of business rules with IT service providers meeting GF and other data management expectations.
    • Ensure the correctness of the scripts (typically python, SQL, and JavaScript) used by IT service providers to extract, manipulate, and present data.
    • Understand the competencies of the system tools the data required to meet the business users’ requirements.
    • Understand the workflows within and between applications.
    • Conduct comparative cost analysis on quotations versus products offered.
    • Contribute to processes, procedures and governance to manage the IT service providers.
    • Ensure maintenance of security protocols and analytics.
    • Support and ensure data governance processes are followed.
    • Ensure compliance with data governance standards such as PoPIA, GDPR, and any other relevant standards.
    • Establish data as a product that is consumable by different parts of the organisation.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Data Science or relevant field
    • Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in IT and data management
    • Experience in health data and monitoring and evaluation, experience in the social development sector is preferred.
    • Experience with SQL, Python, and JavaScript is preferred.

    Provincial Coordinator

    • NACOSA is looking for a suitably qualified candidate within South Africa for the position of Provincial Coordinator to support the Community Systems Strengthening programme and delivers on NACOSA’s Community Systems Strengthening programme implemented in South Africa as part of the Global Fund Grant. This position is based in Gauteng, Centurion. 

    The key performance areas of the role are:

    • Coordinate the implementation of the Community Systems Strengthening Programme over a 3-year grant period.
    • Coordinate the Social mobilisation and coordination at various levels in the province.
    • Co-ordinate the mapping of all role-players in the province with specific emphasis on priority districts ensuring that a comprehensive role player database is created.
    • Promote dialogue between civil society, government and other role-players through consultative forum meetings and community dialogues.
    • Co-ordinate all the small and medium grants interventions to deliver quality services for key and vulnerable populations, including liaison with mentors and technical assistants in the province. 
    • Support coordination of civil society structures wrt to their oversight role at provincial, district and local levels.
    • Network with, and build strategic alliances and relationships with key stakeholders in the Metros/Districts and at local level in support of strengthening the response to HIV, TB and STIs.

    Requirements

    Required qualifications, skills and experience

    • Relevant Degree in Social Science/Public Health or related discipline.
    • Minimum of 5 years NGO related work in the health and social development sectors, particularly in the line of Community Development experience and expertise.
    • Minimum of 2 years project management experience within the public health/ NGO sector
    • Extensive networking and stakeholder engagement in metro, district and provincial level experience
    • Highly organised, deadline driven and efficient with planning skills and a proactive and positive approach
    • Must be a human rights advocate with excellent advocacy skills and experience.
    • Ability to work well in a team environment and coordinate multiple inputs to tight deadlines, with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
