    Interior Design Technology Lecturer (Part-Time)

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Preparation and lecturing as per the Module Guide.
    • Teaching curriculum outcomes as per contract hours and stipulated per pre agreed timetable.

    Lecturer: Humanities and Social Science (Part-Time)

    Marketing Assistant - Midrand

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Marketing Administration

    • Accurate capturing of prospective student information, appointments and applications onto SIS and all applicable reports.
    • Capturing all leads into the relevant campaigns (Online applications, Online enquiries, Telephone enquiries).
    • Working co-operatively with the Head: Student Recruitment with respect to all database statistics for marketing reports i.e. (Presentation Trackers and all relevant sales reports).

    Handyman Gqeberha

     Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform maintenance and light repairs.
    • Set up venues as per instruction from Facilities Co-ordinator when needed.
    • Paint and/or repair gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)
    • Undertake light installation or carpeting.
    • Look after and take accountability of tools and equipment in storerooms.
    • Repair equipment or appliances where possible.
    • Undertake minor plumbing or electrical work
    • Assist contractors while on site with major electrical, plumbing work.
    • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks where needed or instructed by Facilities Co-ordinator.
    • Identify and report the need for any repairs to line manager.
    • Oversee subcontracted services on the campus under the direction of the Facilities Coordinator
    • Perform regular inspections on the campus to identify items and areas requiring attention
    • Responsible on occasion for the opening and closing of the campus.
    • Responsible for sourcing quotes for campus, under direction of the Facilities Coordinator
    • Will be based at the Nelson Mandela Bay campus.
    • Any ad hoc duties as directed by the Facilities Co-ordinator.

    Deputy Dean: Faculty Of Education - Midrand,

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Academic Leadership & Management   

    • Develop and implement the strategic plan for the Faculty in conjunction with the long-term vision of the Independent Institute of Education (IIE) Varsity College/IIE MSA as a quality higher education provider.
    • Provide academic leadership for the undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing professional development (CPD) of the Faculty.
    • Review and implement changes to the existing programmes curriculum. 
    • Develop new programmes in collaboration with The Central Academic Team Heads of Programme for accreditation and curriculum material development in the cognate area.
    • Manage and lead the interface with Independent Institute of Education (IIE) in the subject discipline within the Faculty.
    • Develop and drive the implementation of relevant teaching and learning initiatives (i.e. blended learning) in the cognate area based on current industry and research trends.
    • Provide knowledge and expertise on an appropriate teaching model to provide optimal delivery of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment.
    • Plan resource allocation for all aspects of running a successful programme.
    • Support and develop the national and campus academic teams in the delivery of the Teaching, Learning and Assessment strategies, e.g. Smart boards, Learning Management Systems (LMS) training and other relevant technology based applications.
    • Provide specialist knowledge and support to the national marketing team for the development of a marketing strategy for the Faculty.
    • Analyse and report on students’ academic results: throughput rates, progression rates, graduation and completion rates on a national basis and ensure appropriate interventions are implemented where necessary.
    • Participate in key IIE governance structures and committees. (PCC, Faculty Boards, Academic Planning & Development Committee, Examinations Committee, Brands Results, Postgraduate & Research committee).
    • Industry and Professional Management
    • Act as Brand Ambassador to external stakeholders in the profession and partnership building.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with industry in the profession which includes industry placements of students, ssponsorships and professional expertise.
    • Academic positioning of Varsity College/IIE MSA professional training and development for the world of work.
    • Facilitation of, and involvement in professional and scholarly activities.
    • Serves as the key liaison with professional and academic partners in the cognate area.
    • Represent the Independent Institute of Education (IIE) and Varsity College/IIE MSA on external partner faculty boards, committees and professional bodies.
    • Facilitates compliance with partners and provider's policies, regulations and procedures.
    • Teaching, Supervision and Research
    • Actively teach and/or supervise in a specialist field to serve as an exemplar of best practice.
    • Create and foster a culture of research and scholarship in the Faculty.
    • Actively contribute towards the research output of the Faculty and the institution.
    • Provide thought leadership – opinion pieces written and published in (social) media to build academic credibility in the wider SA society/community.      

    Campus Support             

    • Work closely with the campus Head of Faculty and support the development of that role at each campus.
    • Implement a formal communication structure within the Faculty, at a campus level through the Campus Head of Faculty.
    • Support the campuses in the recruitment, selection, approval and development of the teaching team in the cognate area. Approve all lecturer allocations per module.
    • Communicate with the campuses on new developments, recommendations and trends and facilitate troubleshooting relevant to issues within the Faculty.
    • Support the campus in the operation of a bursary programme sponsored by industry (where applicable).

    Head: ICT Support - Cape Town

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Infrastructure Support

    • Accountable for Branch ICT infrastructure and ensures infrastructure is able to support teaching and learning
    • Coordinates the deployment of systems, servers and infrastructure within the campus. Reduction in SLA targets missed and threatened
    • Monitors and oversees ICT security systems and performs periodic tests and checks to ensure that everything is according to requirements.Improves customer satisfaction and perception
    • Reduces SLA breaches caused by underpinning contract and/or OLA breachesTechnical escalation point for Senior ICT Support
    • Negotiates and establishes Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with Business and OLA’s with technical staff      

    Service Delivery Escalations                                                                         

    • Total number and percentage increase in fully documented SLA’s in place
    • Oversight and management of Service Desk operations for respective campuses and ensuring the correct assignment, resolution and/or execution of Incidents, Problems, Changes, and Service requests
    • Increase in completeness of Service Catalogue versus operational services
    • Compilation and submission of fortnightly Service Delivery reports
    • Foster and maintain positive rapport and good relationships with business to ensure processes are integrated to support customer Service Level Agreements
    • Facilitating change and release management processes
    • Financial Supervision
    • Reduces costs related to ICT service delivery
    • Compiles ICT budget for campus and oversees CAPEX & OPEX spend
    • Completes procurement processes (e.g. quotes) timeously and accurately
    • Effectively communicates and coordinates tasks and projects with campus ICT staff
    • Manages CAPEX applications, Purchase orders, asset management, etc.
    • Manage the Interface with the Business and Users
    • Documents and agrees processes and procedures in place (e.g. framework)
    • Reduces outstanding SLAs
    • Attends and reviews minutes of campus operations meetings
    • Schedules meetings with campus senior management teams
    • Staff Supervision
    • Ensures that the campus has the necessary ICT support during operational hours
    • Co-ordinates and oversees campus ICT & SICT Support staff activities and engages in short to medium term tactical planning
    • Provides input into the ICT Supports' interview and hiring process, leave requests, appraisals and KPA setting
    • Provides mentorship to ICT Supports
    • Develops training & succession plan for ICT Supports
