    Data Specialist

    About the job
    Duties and Responsibilities

    • To map suitable analytics solutions, ensuring that all required performance data can be reliably tracked and reported, ensuring an integrated approach with other service teams.
    • Collaborate with technical lead and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
    • To design appropriate measurement strategies and implement complex tracking solutions through Google Tag Manager and to continually test and develop innovative tracking and analytics methodologies.
    • To understand the products, competition, industry, marketing goals and objectives of each of your clients.
    • To support the analytic needs of business units by analysing web traffic using clickstream tools such as Google Analytics, Omniture etc.
    • To communicate key findings effectively and ensuring that insights that benefit the client are actioned.
    • To continually educate clients and colleagues on the importance of online measurement & provide best practice guidance for technical aspects of analytics.
    • To provide training to clients ranging from product training for marketing teams to implementation training for technical teams.
    • To produce technical audit reports for corrective or advanced GA implementation work.
    • To write up code change files for implementation work and effectively communicate with client development departments for correct implementation.
    • To provide technical assistance to data analysts to produce marketing dashboards via Google Data Studio; Tableau; Power BI; Excel and various APIs (e.g. Google Analytics).
    • To perform ad-hoc analytics consultancies for clients and documenting the work.
    • To lead and input into client meetings as required.
    • To communicate effectively with colleagues and clients in a professional manner.
    • To continuously look for ways to improve the efficacy of processes and services provided by the Data & Analytics team as well as the wider company.
    • To work effectively with client or 3rd party technical teams for analytics implementation work.
    • Provide training to team members/clients on all web related terminology and recommend changes in website. Assist other departments to develop test scripts and perform troubleshoot on various issue in systems.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Math, Economics, Marketing, Business Analytics, Data Science, Psychology (Honour's or Master's preferred) or a related field or equivalent work experience.
    • 2-5 years of experience using web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Google Optimize, FullStory, Optimizely or others.
    • 2-5 years of experience providing relevant marketing analysis with experience in online marketing, advertising, PPC, SEO, SEM, e-mail marketing and/or e-tailing.
    • Strong proficiency in working within Excel with large data sets and utilizing pivot tables and lookups.
    • Ability to design A|B tests and interpret results using testing tools like Google Optimize or Optimizely to recommend next steps to Business Owners.
    • Excellent multi-tasking, project management, and prioritization skills. Ability to analyze and present complex data to various stakeholder levels.
    • Advanced knowledge of Google Tag Manager.
    • High level of expertise with Business Intelligence tools, two plus years, such as Brio, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Cognos etc. with experience writing and tuning sql queries in an online or offline environment.
    • 3-5 years of business analysis experience in large size companies with multiple functions / business units preferred.
    • Mid-level expertise in the SEM (Search Engine Marketing) / PPC (Pay Per Click) and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategies and a minimum one-year experience measure success of SEM/PPC and SEO campaigns / efforts.
    • Exposure to project management skills, business process redesign principles, tools and techniques a plus.
    • Exposure to Web Development programming languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and technique a plus.
