    Job Description

    Responsible for the design, development, configuration and testing of Operational Risk reporting and Dashboards. Enable end-user reporting and drive effectiveness of automation of reporting for the Group.  Support the Head of Risk Enablement in driving the Reporting and Analytics strategy for Group Operational Risk.

    • Configure Cognos-hosted dashboards according to documented specifications;
    • Configure Cognos-hosted reports of low to medium complexity (detail or tabular summary) with or without infographic elements, according to documented specifications;
    • Configure Cognos-hosted reports of high complexity (profile or aggregate type which require integration between independent data tables) with or without infographic elements, according to documented specifications;
    • Provide substantial input into the technical soundness of documented specifications for dashboards and reports;
    • Provide input and assist on the design and maintenance, and participate in the testing of (ongoing) configuration of OpenPages and Cognos reporting packages;
    • Responsible for first-level functional and technical testing of own-developed/-configured reports and dashboards;
    • Assist with the analysis, enhancement, refinement, and maintenance of existing Cognos-hosted queries, dashboards and reports;
    • Facilitate the identification of data quality or configuration shortcomings / limitations, as it relates to the scoped and assigned reports and dashboards for development or enhancement;
    • Participate in facilitating ad-hoc user training on technical aspects pertaining to Cognos;
    • Perform peer review (quality assurance) on other Cognos-related developments / configurations;
    • Produce and present proof-of-concepts or simulated mock-ups of new or experimental reporting/dashboarding elements, where required;
    • Facilitate report and dashboard migration from older/outdated reporting packages;

    Consultant Quality Control

    To provide advice & support in the development & implementation of area of quality control specialisation; developing high quality standards & measures and coaching to ensure that errors do not re-occur.

    Job Description

    • Design and implement an audit template that measures the quality of valuations submitted by the Valuation suppliers in order to keep in line with the Service Level Agreement as well as accepted valuation practice and methodology.  Provide training on the application of the said template to Regional Managers and Managing Directors of Valuation Companies in order for them to understand what they will be measured against.  The detailed results of the aforementioned will be reflected in a quarterly report and utilised for the identification and mitigation of risks.  Conduct audits on all contracted valuation companies by performing site inspections to building sites and valued properties as well as physical visits to the contracted valuation office. Findings of these actions are recorded on the audit template in order to identify risk and trend analysis of various Region's performance.
    • Conduct debriefing sessions with Valuation Contractors and Regional Management on post audit findings, by presenting audit findings. Recommendations and training are provided in order to rectify the identified risks.
    • Liase with contractors and stake holders to establish and maintain open and honest relationships by keeping them informed of changes in the Home Loan environment via e-mail, tele-conferencing and presentation of workshops.
