    Senior Risk Consultant

    This role will primarily focus on -

    • Developing structured solutions to client's risk management challenges / exposures, including research and preparing accurate proposals, assignment plans and report writing.
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, new business prospects, broking colleagues and insurers.
    • Develop consistent approaches to the delivery of consulting programs to existing and prospective clients.
    • Adhere to all established standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records for each project while keeping within assigned budgets.
    • Generate new and expanded business opportunities and contribute to the development of the capabilities, direction and profile of the practice.

    What the day will look like (not limited to):

    • Perform a range of insurance and property risk control surveys / assessments.
    • Risk Control Organisation - Assisting with the development and structure of a risk control strategy and organisation together with policies, procedures and practises.
    • Asset Protection – Fire and Perils: evaluation and assessment of material damage and Business Interruption risks and loss potentials for both general and highly protected risks, advice on protective/preventive measures and damage limitation controls.
    • Asset Protection - Security: general and specific review on security exposures, advice on the implementation of standards and procedures for protecting people, property and information as well as physical and electronic resources.
    • Health and Safety - management system audits, general and specific risk assessments, policy development, design and implementation of appropriate safety standards and procedures, specialist advice on legal requirements and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
    • Engineering - evaluation of mechanical and electrical installations and systems. Identification of critical equipment, protections and preventive maintenance programmes, building structure reviews and monitoring of infrared and earthing surveys.
    • Fire Engineering - all aspects of fire engineering from design, monitoring tender submissions to approving drawings and commissioning of fire protection and detection systems.
    • Emergency Planning Procedures - Identify vital services and vulnerable areas and potentially hazardous goods/materials. Review existing plans and assist with the implementation of the full spectrum of emergencies, which may arise, taking various threats into consideration.
    • Business Continuity Planning - Project initiation, risk and business impact analysis, strategy development, liaison with other parties, detailed planning advice on plan preparation and contents. Staff training, plan testing and maintenance.
    • Motor Fleet - Management system audits, general risk assessments, policy development, design and implementation of appropriate operating standards and procedures.
    • Information Technology - Assessments of hardware and software fire and security protection standards, data and access control procedures and disaster recovery planning.
    • Insurance Reports - All types of insurer related reports, EML/MPLs, Post Loss surveys, Engineering Breakdown surveys.
    • Additional Services - Coordinate our outsourced specialist consultants who provide audits on liability, environmental issues and compliance, IT systems and structure.

    Qualifications:

    • Be in possession of Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Be in a possession of a formal tertiary qualification in Engineering or related field.
    • A post-graduate qualification in Risk Management and / or NHD in Fire Engineering will be an advantage.

    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of property loss control standards in industries including but not limited to mining / mineral processing, power and utilities, manufacturing and real estate.
    • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment and work to strict deadlines.
    • Must be thoroughly knowledgeable of risk management and loss control technical disciplines and should have, or be willing to obtain, professional designations.
    • Individual with knowledge of the principles and practices within a technical / professional discipline.

    Client Liaison Officer

    What the day will look like:

    • Maintains and builds relationships with existing and new clients as well as with Insurers and Fund administrators.
    • Attends to and resolves client queries, promptly and efficiently.
    • Prepares all communication and information requirements (agendas, minutes, reports) for client meetings.
    • Assists with the annual market review of existing benefit offerings and/or applicable rates.
    • Provides administrative support to the team including updating and maintaining accurate records and files, entering data into relevant systems, assisting with producing documents and collating information.
    • Adheres strictly to agreed SLAs with clients.
    • Responds promptly and efficiently to instructions, requests and enquiries at all times.
    • Plans and prioritises time and work in order to provide an efficient service to clients and colleagues.
    • Cooperates and works with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure tasks are completed on time.
    • Responsible for engaging in business development and/or contributing directly or indirectly to all business development efforts in Aon South Africa.

    Qualifications.

    • Grade 12 (matric)
    • An NQF level 5 qualification in wealth management financial planning
    • RE 5 certificate

    Knowledge.

    • Advanced computer literacy with advanced proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
    • Knowledge of the principles and practices within a technical/divisional discipline.
