    National Operations Manager

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    • Oversee the Customer Service, Logistics and Demand Planning functions for South Africa. Lead efficient and high performing teams based in South Africa and support Southern Africa strategic, operational and revenue goals

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Build and develop a successful team with a customer centric attitude, high engagement and active participation. Motivate staff to ensure optimal alignment and performance
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, agility and high performance. Communicate the company vision and culture through words and actions, model company values
    • Create solutions, develop strategies and best practices to optimize the Customer Service, Logistics and Demand Planning teams, share knowledge and collaborate with peers and other functions across the US and EMEA regions
    • Communicate effectively and partner with the Commercial team to support the Commercial strategy and key growth projects
    • Drive Operational Excellence and ensure critical metrics are measured and reported
    • Drive continuous improvement, streamline processes, identify issues and implement effective and sustainable countermeasures using DBS tools
    • Implement and support team with the use of effective Visual Daily Management at Gemba to drive improvements in key metrics
    • Constantly reassess the efficiency of the controls to ensure that all transactions and made in line with Cepheid’s internal procedures and Danaher Compliance policies.
    • Coach, mentor, train and continually develop warehouse team and align 3PL partners with DBS strategies and operational management tools whenever possible
    • Manage 3PL relationships and company owned warehouses
    • Analyze distribution process and determine the most cost effective and/or efficient means of transporting goods; negotiate with suppliers to improve supply chain efficiency
    • Manage to annual goals set for On Time Delivery (OTD)
    • Manage to annual goals set for Outbound Freight Recovery (OBFR)
    • Work with global and regional teams to ensure compliance with all quality standards

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    Education or Experience (in years):

    • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience OR
    • Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience
    • Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or Business qualification
    • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required.
    • Previous experience with Lean Six Sigma desired
    • Experience with developing process documentation including flowcharts, SOPs and Standard Work Instructions.
    • Experience implementing and applying process improvement tools such as 5S and leading PSP- Problem Solving Process
    • Experience in working internationally in a fast-paced, reputable global Biotech / Pharmaceutical or Consumer company organized in a matrix structure.
    • Ability to travel potentially 15% of the time based on business need

    Knowledge and skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel required.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience using SAP

    National Sales and Field Application Manager

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    • The National Sales and FAS Manager develops and maintains business relationships with existing and potential customers to meet commercial objectives. They will plan, direct and implements strategies to maximize sales volume and increases market share for all Cepheid products in South Africa. They will direct and ensure Field Application Specialist responsibilities are completed in the highest standard to ensure timely installations and system performance.
    • The National Sales and FAS Manager will drive results through their exceptional leadership skills, consistently championing and supporting a culture of continuous improvement, with an eye on reaching optimum performance through individuals and teams.

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides strategic and tactical planning to successfully manage in South Africa; deliver sales targets, monitor the success of commercial and public sector promotion campaigns and provide regular and accurate reporting.
    • Manage the Field Applications Specialist Team through the Team Lead. Coach and mentor the FAS Team Lead to achieve all FAS team KPI’s and deliverables.
    • Manage the Public Sector Key Account Manager and support all initiatives within this sector and Alternate market development.
    • Provide Strategic leadership to the Public Sector KAM in order to grow current usage and expand menu utilization at HBDC customers

    Senior Manager Customer Care Southern Africa

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Senior Manager, Customer Care Southern Africa is responsible for management of post sales customer experience in South Africa and neighbouring Southern Africa Countries through providing leadership over the four core functions of Customer Care: Technical Support, Field Service, Technical Service Coordination and the Cepheid regional repair centre based in Johannesburg. Working in a Matrix managed environment the post holder will collaborate closely with the Commercial and HBDC sales organization to ensure Customer Care resources are aligned with the growth trajectory and targets for the regions. For South Africa the post holder will play a key role in the relationship with public health ensuring that Service Levels are maintained through rigorous oversight of key performance indicators. The post holder will work closely with the regional leadership for Technical Support, Field Service, Service Business Development and Service Supply to ensure teams are operating within the global and region framework.

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Recruit, retain and develop a high performing and results orientated team.
    • Provides strategic and tactical planning to successfully manage customer care in South Africa and Zimbabwe direct operations
    • Manages 3rd Party Authorised Service providers in Southern Africa countries where Cepheid is not directly represented.
