    QUALIFICATIONS

    Grade 12 with Mathematics preferably

    EXPERIENCE

    • 2-3 years experience within a production environment
    • Previous experience in buying will be an advantage.

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Good communication and negotiation and buying skills.

    MAIN DUTIES

    • Buying and controlling of stock for minimum and maximum stock levels.
    • Ensure to take lead time into consideration when ordering both local and imported raw materials.
    • To manage subordinates on a daily basis to ensure all tasks are fulfilled according to the  procedures.
    • To analyze the requisitions from the supervisor to clarify that the orders are in fact  needing to be placed.
    • Working closely alongside the Stores supervisor to ensure that there is enough stock in stores at all times according to lead times and usages.
    • To report any urgent issues regarding stock levels and supply issues , stores staff issues and production quality issues directly to the General Manager. 
    • Ensuring that the staff are following the FIFO rotation in a regular basis.
    • Doing spot checks to ensure that the correct labels and lot numbers are put on the items and that the traceability is up to date and done on arrival.
    • To work closely with management on current pricing and new increase trends for the various suppliers.
    • To be totally aware of the usages of each item, the supplier of the  item and the lead time by the use of the Meat Matrix system and the various stock reports developed by the buyer.
    • To meet with suppliers and management on a regular basis to resolve issues , discuss usage trends etc.
    • To assist and guide the team to resolve stock fault issues and revert to supplier for corrective action and ensuring the production team have sufficient stock in the interim.
    • To have good negotiating skills in the need of new stock
    • To oversee and manage the stock take process on a monthly basis.
    • To keep a good communication path between stores and production and stores and  management
    • To ensure that all staff member follow the procedures, SOP’s and health  and safety rules at all times.
    • To be prepared to work flexible hours  including overtime when necessary.
    • Have people handlings skills , a team player and ability to apply discipline where necessary.
    • Proficient use of email and computer
    • To ensure that hyster inspection is conducted and the check sheet is completed on a daily basis.
    • To report any hyster deviation to the engineering department
    • Being able to work under pressure and efficiently
    • Need to be well mannered and able to engage with customers, suppliers , management  and staff alike.

    Retail Assistant Manager - Retail Food Store (Pretoria)

    Job Description

    The purpose of the role is for the Retail Assistant Manager is to provide assistance to the Retail Manager in regards to the oversight and leading all operations of the store in ensuring that the store functions smoothly while optimizing profits.

    The Retail Assistant Manager will promote and increase customer traffic to the store by improving customer satisfaction levels and ensuring stock availability to customers at all times.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12 (Non-Negotiable)
    • Diploma/Degree in Retail or Business or related qualification will be advantageous

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a retail environment, ideally in a supervisory or leadership level.

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    • Prior knowledge and experience in management of; Inventory/stock, buying, staff, products merchandising, costs and profitability of the store.
    • Knowledge of stock management systems like ERP, Meat matrix, e.t.c
    • Knowledge and understanding of FMCG environment and related legislation
    • Management of perishable products with short shelf life especially in meat industry
    • Basic Understanding of retail consumer behaviour and purchasing trends
    • Basic Understading of the retail and meat market

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
    • Demonstratable analytical skills.
    • Basic Understanding of income statements, cash flows, stock management reporting, and all basic financial systems.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
    • Exceptional customer service and people management skills.
    • Energetic and self-starter.
