Description

As the Financial Manager - Operations, you will design, implement, and oversee the financial control framework, focusing on trade payables, cost of sales, trade receivables, and revenue. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Manager, you will manage two controllers, with each controller overseeing a team of about five accountants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Revenue and Receivables:

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of trade debtors.
• Review reconciliation outputs and their remediation.
• Spot trends of frequent variances and initiate root cause investigations.
• Oversee revenue calculations based on contracts and reconciled datasets.
• Monitor debtors’ outstanding balances and lead initial recovery efforts for overdue accounts.
• Liaise with Key Account Managers for escalated debt recovery.
• Oversee credit limit applications and new debtor onboarding.

Creditors:

• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of trade creditors.
• Review and oversee reconciliation outputs and their remediation.
• Detect trends of frequent variances and instigate root cause investigations.
• Supervise Cost of Sales calculations and ensure in line with product specification.
• Manage and control creditor payments.
• Oversee onboarding processes for new creditors.

Build team and people capabilities through:

• Providing real-time, ongoing coaching and feedback to team members throughout the year
• On-time completion of performance management activities including regular 1:1s and Bi-annual performance reviews through GPS
• Supporting employee development including facilitation of career development conversations and crafting development plans for current and future needs
• Taking action to hire and retain high-performers and address poor performance
• Proactively manage change initiatives within the team including sufficient planning/ preparation and communication to minimise disruption and support employee adoption.
• Role modelling the behaviours that support and drive the Flash culture and values

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• CA (SA)
• 3 – 5 years post article experience 
• 2+ year of Management experience
• Advanced spreadsheet skills

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric
• Must be bilingual, with fluency in Amharic and English  
• Fluency in Foreign Languages i.e. Somalian, Bangladesh and Pakistan will be an advantage
• 6 months Call Centre Experience will be an advantage
• Must be computer literate
