    Retail Logistics Analyst - Homechoice (Southern Suburbs (Cape))

    Description

    • The Logistics Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting and optimizing distribution processes in the operation. The focus will be twofold: To create models and tools that translate operational activity into visible reporting metrics across all operations and stakeholders, engaging and holding stakeholders accountable for the delivery against agreed metrics and SLA’s, and to support end-to- end optimization efforts in distribution to improve capacity and productivity. The Analyst will be responsible for the management of the day2day administrative functions across all logistics operations and working across the Distribution department and Warehouse Operations. 

    What you will love doing in this role

    • Work with National Logistics Operations in implementing product distribution analysis in the department.
    • Create and manage tools and processes to support the distribution capacity planning process, acting in liaison with the Distribution Centre, Fulfilment Team, and Operations Team, Project Manager to proactively address potential capacity constraints.  
    • Create and utilize in-depth analytical tools to support issue resolution, decision making and strategic implementation.
    • Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the business to create, benchmark, and measure distribution service level KPIs and help teams incorporate metrics into day-to-day operations.
    • Establish baseline and on-going understanding of logistics operations and productivity; and support end-to-end optimization effort in the department.
    • Prepare presentations for senior management. 
    • Analyse and provide new logistics options to meet and support business goals.
    • Perform rate analysis prior to rate negotiation with service providers and assist in cost reduction initiatives.
    • Develop and share best practices with other teams.
    • Analyse and generate regular performance reports to logistics management teams. 
    • Provide support to logistics management teams when needed in budget preparation and expense management activities.
    • Assist in period stock takes and development of action plans.
    • Manage Customer Returns in line with targets
    • Support the site SHEQ program.

    Requirements

    What you’ll need to do this role

    • B. Degree/ Diploma in logistics, supply chain, industrial engineering, management information systems or related field.
    • Post graduate studies advantageous 
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the distribution and warehouse industry at specialist or management level
    • Excel advanced
    • Strong Analytical Skills
    • Budgeting process experience
    • Capable of developing clear and up-to-date procedural processes 
    • Previous experience in the retail industry advantageous 
    • Ability to engage with 3rd party providers, negotiation and resolution skills

    • Drive Operational Efficiencies
    • Financial stock take planning and execution
    • Ensure Showroom Processes (Inventory, Receiving and Frontline) are adhered to and aligned to legal regulations
    • Ensure Showroom merchandise is aligned to current catalogue product offering
    • Ensure products are visually merchandised as per the guidelines
    • Manage the productivity of the Showroom in all areas and drive sales
    • Deliver adequate and timely action plans and monitor progress to address and resolve deficiencies
    • Stock Management
    • Ensure efficient stock control process to allow the store to have the right amount of stock in the right place at the right time
    • Responsible for stock taking /counts within the store
    • Cash Management
    • Ensure efficient cash handling process (counting, recounting, reconciling discrepancies, making deposits)
    • Investigate cash shrinkage, counterfeit currencies, safe and bank discrepancies
    • Reduce cash exposure to avoid robberies/Burglaries
    • Track cash flow between POS and safe
    • People Management    
    • Conduct adequate training on the internal controls. Build knowledge and understanding of risks in store.  Provide coaching and guidance to ensure maximum efficiency and compliance.
    • Reporting
    • Deliver adequate and timely reporting on the internal control framework and deficiencies
    • Ensure Health and Safety Compliance regulations 
    • Requirements

    What you’ll need to do this role

    • Grade 12/Matric/NQF 4 - Minimum (Required)
    • Min 10 years’ experience in Compliance and Admin Management
