    Financial Reporting Analyst - SuperSport CA(SA)

    Purpose of the Position: 

    • Responsible for Business Unit reporting, financial forecasting and budgeting, ad hoc financial analysis and general finance support to Head of Finance and Finance Manager Reporting

    Key Performance Objectives
    Tasks
    Support Finance and General Accounting operations and External Reporting
    Month end

    • SAP month end procedures
    • Responsible for providing or reviewing financial data and calculations to/from Shared Services to process accounting entries (i.e. for investments, fixed asset valuations, hedge accounting, monthly accruals and provisions etc.)
    • Responsible for ensuring that the accounting records correctly reflect the financial results
    • Cost savings Tracker Consolidation
    • Co-ordinate and manage the delivery of subsidiary, joint venture & associates reporting for inclusion in consolidated results
    • Prepare Consolidated monthly reporting packs for Business Units including financial and non-financial information, variance analysis of actuals, budget, forecasts and prior year
    • Deliver accurate monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis
    • Preparation of the monthly cash flow forecast with detailed variance analysis 

    Annual

    • Responsible for notes and commentary for external and statutory reporting
    • Review of annual financial statements for company, joint ventures and subsidiaries
    • Co-ordinate, collate and manage the delivery of SuperSport reporting for Internal & External audit purposes

    Ad Hoc

    • Consult with Shared Services Central Accounting team to resolve Intercompany Disputes
    • Responsible for preparing information that will be sent to the Regulators
    • Ad-hoc analyses and reports as required

    Perform Financial Planning and Analysis

    • Facilitate the budget and forecast process for the Business Unit
    • Prepare and report on Budgets and Forecasts
    • Prepare 24 month Treasury cash flow forecasts
    • Prepare 24 month rolling forecasts of Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statement
    • Proactively partner with the business to identify and evaluate opportunities to improve performance and ensure that change initiatives are implemented
    • Prepare monthly reporting pack (including financial performance and variance analyses against plans, forecasts and regional objectives)
    • Work with corporate SAP team to set up and further improve reporting for the business unit

    Qualifications

    • Must be a CA (SA)

    Experience / Skills

    • Minimum 2 years post article relevant experience in a similar role
    • Sound knowledge of IFRS and Taxation rules
    • SAP system experience
    • Advanced MS Office skills
    • Experience in broadcasting industry would be advantageous

    Finance Manager – Rights, Reporting and Corporate - SuperSport CA(SA)

    Purpose of the Position:

    •  Responsible for the accuracy of statutory & management reports, content budgets and forecasts, and financial planning. Support the business unit in analysing and improving financial results and analysis for Rights negotiations. Here the most attention will be paid to Sports Rights cost analysis and modelling, financial review of support function budgets, variance analysis, Group Management & Statutory Reporting and compliance activities.

    Key Performance Objectives
    Tasks
    Rights Management

    • Review and management of Rights inventory
    • Preparation of Rights Budget
    • Analysis of Rights Actuals vs Budget, Forecast & PY
    • Sign-off vendor invoices
    • Sports Rights strategy updates and presentations
    • Regulatory reporting input and quota tracking
    • Execution of finance relevant sections for new deals loaded onto Synergy (Fee, License Period and Payment terms)
    • Deal re-negotiation analysis and related financial modelling
    • Inventory assessment and management (past due and expiring content, system costing errors, content aging)
    • Supervise month-end processes in the content financial system (Synergy)

    Perform Financial Planning and Analysis

    • Provide guidance and facilitate the target setting, budget and forecast processes for assigned events, divisions and/or regions and ensure it aligns with Business Unit objectives
    • Budget for Rights and Corporate Support Functions to enable detailed analysis and commentary
    • Review and submit consolidated 24-month Treasury cash flow forecasts
    • Review and submit consolidated 24-month rolling forecasts of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statement
    • Prepare monthly reporting pack (financial, non-financial and headcount data, including financial performance and variance analyses of actuals against plans, forecasts, prior periods)
    • Prepare divisional performance reporting for monthly and year to date results against budget and forecasts
    • Provide meaningful ad hoc financial analysis as required

    Business Partnering

    • Support business heads with Finance requirements such as capex planning and investment decisions
    • Provide Finance-related advice and analysis relevant to each division within Connected Video
    • Partner with business heads to drive cost savings initiatives and improve efficiencies
    • Proactively partner with the business to identify and evaluate opportunities to improve bottom line business performance and ensure that change initiatives are implemented
    • Ensure all financial policies and procedure are communicated and adhered to in day-to-day operations
    • Work with shared services on the delivery of in-scope services in accordance with SLA and the improvement of current services

    Support Finance and General Accounting operations and External Reporting

    • Direct all ongoing financial activities associated with month-end, quarter-end, half year and year-end and ensure delivery within set Group timelines
    • Review related month-end calculations as well as entries for accruals and provisions
    • Responsible for the accuracy and quality of the balance sheet reconciliations
    • Review monthly tax schedules for accuracy and completeness
    • Responsible for the approval of purchase requisitions per the delegation of authority framework and confirm validity of the expense and availability of budget
    • Review/prepare schedules reports for half-year and full-year audits/packs
    • Consult with the Shared Services Central Accounting team to prepare and assist with internal and statutory audits

    Qualifications

    • Must have a CA qualification

    Experience / Skills

    • Has 6 years of experience (Accounting, Finance or Business Administration);
    • Minimum 3 years people management experience
    • Industry understanding and experience would be advantageous
    • Sound Business Acumen
    • SAP system experience
    • Solid HFM knowledge and experience
    • Sound knowledge of IFRS and Income Tax Act
    • Knowledge of transfer pricing and withholding tax advantageous
    • Intercompany accounting experience is essential
    • Financial Modelling experience
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Experience managing a minimum of 2 people
