    IT Manager: Group Finance Applications

    Role overview

    This role is responsible for the delivery of a variety of IT services to support business objectives and is individually accountable for achieving results by leading a team of IT resources, over periods of up to 1 year. The IT Manager's business portfolio is smaller than that of a Senior IT Manager. The successful candidate will form part of the Old Mutual Group Finance IT Delivery team.

    The incumbent will be responsible for the management of the delivery lifecycle for Group Finance applications. He/she will have to collaborate with business stakeholders and IT interfaces, creating and maintaining solutions that are synergistic to the IT Strategy and Group Finance Portfolio. The incumbent will also apply subject matter expertise to identify, develop, and implement techniques to improve engagement productivity, increase efficiencies, mitigate risks, resolve issues, and optimize cost savings and efficiencies.

    IT Solution Delivery Management

    • Project gates - collaborate with the Business and Delivery partners to understand the business strategies and priorities and articulate the scope, business outcomes and targeted roles that will benefit from the investment. Collaborate with the Delivery and Business Partners to optimize the project schedule/scope.
    •  User Acceptance Test - Engage as SME’s during the User Acceptance Test to validate the business requirements in the pre-production environment.
    • Change Management - Champion the change management plan by collaborating with business partners and IT to prepare for adoption and realize business value.

    • Provides technical and solutions advice.

    Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required

    • Matric, plus relevant tertiary qualification (degree/diploma).
    • 7 years relevant IS work experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing financials applications.
    • Must have working knowledge of Financial and Project Management.
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of ITIL processes and principles
    • Up to date with trends in financial systems.
    • Building Customer and Partner Relationships - establishing and maturing relationships across multiple teams.
    • Confidence - takes ownership of challenging situations that require engagement with stakeholders. Engages stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.
    • Keep abreast of best practice within the IT sector and must drive Innovation in the team.
    • Solid experience in working in a multi discipline team fostering collaboration and team work.
    • Strong stakeholder management, communication and facilitations skills and business acumen.
    • Experience in the Insurance industry and financial applications will be advantageous.
    • Experience working with offshore IT teams as well as SAAS/PAAS/IAAS solutions will be advantageous.

    Analyst Programmer

    Role overview

    The role includes (but not limited to) system development skills, basic systems analysis, interpreting and executing test plans. Individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and ensuring stability of the technology solutions for the IT Delivery business. Provide technical and functional support to all users within the IT Delivery business and will be responsible for ensuring that various IT operations run smoothly.

    • Assists BA’s and Solution Architects to translate strategic and operational decisions into business solutions.
    • Will be involved in migrating application from Development into QA and Production – should have strong analysis and problem resolution skills.
    • Assists with analysis and design of application modification and enhancements.
    • Role includes coding, implementations, testing and system enhancements.
    • Also includes providing higher technical and programming support.
    • Co-ordinates time and priorities to ensure that goals are met.
    • Ability to understand big picture in which business operates.
    • May be required to do standby.
    • Ensures the stability of the Accurate technology landscape.
    • Have a good working relationship with business users, business analysts and other technical staff.

    System Programming

    System Testing

    • Assists solution construction including programming, systems testing and correction of programme models.
    • Interprets and executes test plans, or assists in developing test plans in conjunction with Senior Analyst Programmer or Business Analyst.

    Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required

    • Matric
    • Relevant business working experience in the IT environment, particularly in the financial sector advantageous
    • Minimum of 2+ years information technology experience
    • Must have completed relevant Tertiary-level Degree or Diploma (Information Systems / Information Technology / Computer Science)
    • Experience with C# .NET, Sql Server, Sql report writing, Windows Services
    • Knowledge of WebSphere would be an advantage
    • Strong Sql skills would be an advantage
    • An understanding on using Source Control Application (e.g. TFS) and agile development
    • ITIL Knowledge and Certification highly advantageous
    • Problem solving skills a must
    • Must be able to effectively work independently as well as part of a team
    • Must be willing and able to work extended hours as and when required
    • Take initiative and ability to drive things forward without being prompted.

    IT Support Specialist

    Role overview

    • This role supports the management, support and delivery of the EUC platforms, infrastructure and applications is accountable for achieving results through own efforts.

    Role Description / Key Performance Areas

    • Responsible for the development and maintenance of EUC processes, standards and procedures.
    • Identify ongoing service improvements to systems and processes, people and technology.
    • Working with all IT Support teams, Service Management and external stakeholders (for e.g. customer and 3rd parties).
    • Uses the ITSM toolset and process to oversee, manage and drive closure of incidents and requests through both Old Mutual Support Teams and Service Providers.
    • Responsible for ensuring the development of fixes and/or enhancement to applications, platform or infrastructure and the implementation thereof.
    • Responsible for maintaining positive collaboration between the Workplace Enablement teams, identifying possible deficiencies and improvements.
    • Supports the provisioning of production applications.
    • Provides technical advice and consultation to the business.
    • Implements cost saving / optimisation initiatives.
    • Acquires and applies knowledge of business processes, procedures, policies and practices.
    • Communicates effectively regarding support related activities.

    Qualifications Required

    • Matric
    • At least 3 years’ experience in IT Operations
    • Appropriate IT qualification.
    • Sound platform knowledge (SCCM, Virtualisation Platforms, Active Directory)

    • A good understanding of all/most (proof of experience beneficial): Maintenance and Support functions, Incident, Request, Problem, Change, Service Level Management, Customer Relationship Management Accepts and lives the company values.
