    Sourcing Specialist: Motor Claims

    What will you do?

    • This career opportunity for a Sourcing Specialist: Motor Claims is available at Santam for the Group Sourcing: Procurement department, the role is based in Bellville, Cape Town.
    • This role will primarily support the Motor Claims Procurement team.
    • You will be a key member responsible for executing procurement strategies, contract and supplier management across the motor claims portfolio.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Manage and maintain various reporting platforms and validate system integrity and data quality.
    • Initiate procurement initiatives and development of approved category plans.
    • Sourcing and contracting management of commodities within the procurement portfolio.
    • Management of costs and achieve savings against the budget.
    • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives and show acumen towards driving new initiatives.
    • Manage supplier relationships; manage contracted database and new contracts. Ensure necessary compliance processes are adhered to.
    • Internal and external stakeholder management between procurement, operations/business, clients, and suppliers.
    • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Drive adherence to procurement governance requirements
    • Attend and provide support to Cross Functional Sourcing Team meetings.
    • Support the relevant procurement managers in ad hoc duties.

    This will result in the following outcomes:

    • Providing Client Delight in terms of optimal supply of service.
    • Providing “Best Practice” procurement processes to increase efficiency; and

    Qualification and Experience

    • BComm (preferable) or equivalent being a Procurement Qualification with other relevant qualifications
    • Experience in working and managing motor claims suppliers i.e. Motor Body Repairs, Tow Operators, Value Added Services, Salvage, Motor Glass, Car Rental etc.
    • Postgraduate Diploma Project Management
    • Experience in sourcing, contracting and supplier management across multiple spend categories
    • Minimum of 3-5 years practical experience in a procurement and/or supply chain environment (Preferable) in the short-term insurance or related industry.

    Business Development Consultant

    The role

    • A position has become available for a Business Development Consultant at Santam Direct, based in their Johannesburg / Belville offices.

    What will you do?

    • This role fulfils the execution of strategic business development initiatives (new and existing) to achieve the
    • Business Unit's current and future growth opportunities in the direct insurance market, and build our competitiveness and future market share through existing and new distribution channels, including strategic business partners, traditional lead providers, brokers, dealerships etc.
    • In addition, the BDC will take full accountability for identifying potential business partnerships, maintaining good and solid relationships, securing new business opportunities, and promoting the Santam brand and product offerings for Personal and Commercial Insurance to achieve business growth targets set.
    • The BDC will be responsible for all due diligence linked to the onboarding of new Direct Business Partners, ensuring that all compliance and legislative elements pertaining to NDAs, contracting, SLAs, and reporting are executed timely and accurately.
    • This role will also be responsible for maintaining strong business relationships with all Direct Partners in line with Santam's values, mission, and vision strategy.

    • Achieve maintain all partnership strategies to deliver on all contracted targets
    • Maintain a healthy business relationship at a strategic and operational level
    • Responsible for negotiating capacity and support from other teams within Santam to support new and existing Business Partnerships
    • Keep abreast of any developments within our partners and manage the portfolio of business through analysis, interpretation and decision making
    • Responsible for all Direct Business Partner contracting and adherence to any governance and legislative requirements. Also responsible for annual renewed contracting where required
    • Constant communication and pointers to the Business Development Manager in order to achieve targets, maintain relationships, adhere to any legislation changes etc. that may apply.
    • Proactively identify operational or procedural obstacles and problems, determine impact patterns and trends analysis by identifying best fit alternatives design best practice solutions
    • Manage effective SLA's with internal and external stakeholders

    Qualification and Experience

    • Matric
    • Relevant insurance qualification
    • FAIS compliant , including RE certificate
    • Minimum 5+ years relationship management experience
    • Minimum of 3 years short term insurance experience essential
    • Experience in a direct non-life OR short-term insurance environment preferential
    • Valid driver's license
    • Fluent in English and Afrikaans

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and Power Point
    • Proven ability to manage relationships with partners
    • Ability to negotiate and conclude partnerships
    • Technical insurance knowledge essential - Sales, Underwriting, QA,
    • Rating and Loss Ratio (high level information)
    • Effective internal and external stakeholder management
    • Administration function in ensuring that contracts are in place, compliance and legislative requirements are being met and reports to Business Partners are timeous and value adding
    • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
